Thanks for the heads up about the price.

I've the GX100 as a backup PNS.

Personally, I feel that breaking the $1000 mark for a PNS is on a high side, it's not going to perform as a DSLR but the price is at an entry level DSLR.

Morever, it's not really pocketable as a PNS camera.

You might as well call it a Rich camera minus the O from Ricoh.

$1080 (12mth instalment)
$1046 (Cash)

That's precisely why I have finally decided to rule out the GX100 from my shortlist. Its a nice camera (though expensive) but its not small enough for me to carry around where ever I go. Now looking at GRD2 as a viable option. In fact I may just save the $$$ and go for an Ixus 70 if I can't get enough out of the RAW files that I'm testing from the GRD2 now.

You're right. It's kinda of expensive but it all depend on individual budget. I'm a ex-DSLR user and I'm bore of bring a DSLR camera and couple lenses during a trip. Too heavy. And furthermore, you'll spend more money in good lenses later. So I was looking for a good P&S camera. My choice was between Lumix LX2, Canon G9 and Ricoh GR II. And finally make Ricoh my choice after handling it. It all depend on individual like and dislike.

Has anyone upgrade their Ricoh GR or GR II latest firmware? Love to hear from those who have.

Just ask the price of GRD2 at AP. S$940. too exp la.

Bigworld, was that price just for the camera or together with the adapter ring and leather case and did it include GST?

I bought the the new toy yesterday and brought it home happily. But this morning when I on it after charging the battery, I bought 2 dead pixel on the LCD screen. I actually did a thorough check in the store before purchasing and the 1st set i got got one DP in it. The 2nd I found nothing until I brought it home. Am I unlucky or what. Haa... I hope it's not because of the QC of Ricoh! ><

Nevertheless, GRDII is indeed an excellent camera!

Hey, congrats, how much did you pay for it? Did it come with wide angle adaptor and viewfinder?

Was quoted $1099 for GRD2 at MS Color.

Thanks! As stated by a fellow clubsnap member, i bought it at 1099 @ MS color. More ex as compared to some I saw in this forum but I have no regrets. I managed to changed a new set after finding dead pixel on the screen. :)

My set comes with a adapter cap (ring), a lens adapter + hood. Lens and viewfinder have to buy separately.

Hi Anne, when you changed to a new set, did you do so at MS Color or at the Ricoh service center?

I think the price diff is not much currently since its a newly launched model.

hi Rurouni, I got it changed at Ms Color. :) They are really nice to change it for me. I felt very paisay thou but I glad I was thickskin enuff to go back. :P

I gotta agree. Their price should linger ard 1k +-. Depends on the freebies u get! :)

Oh that's nice of them!

I'm actually testing out the GRD2 quite a fair bit, quite keen to buy, have some sample photos at my flickr page, do share some new shots from your new toy when you have the time! :)

You guys can actually head down to TK photo.

Their selling it at 990. The lens hood and adapter can be bought from them at around 30,
which makes it lower then all the other shops thats is throwing in the offer @ around 1.1k with lens hood + adapter.

how come GRD2 is sold so exp in singapore ah. its much cheaper in HK and TW. about 800+. Too Bad there is no international warrenty for ricoh pruduct.

Cameras and a lot of electronics are cheaper in HK than in Singapore. Taiwan I'm not sure though...

If I got a chance to get a GRD2 about 800+, but its 2 years mainland warrenty. Shall I grap one?

if u do travel to mainland on a frequent basis, why not? :) warranty is important for convenience and if the travelling part is no problem, i think its a good deal.

Hi GRD2 n GX users,

Just to check is the GRD2 waranty 3 yr or 1 yr? GX100 3 yrs rt?

I think there international waranty for ricoh GX100 not sure abt GRD2.
Was told by the HK shop yesterday it 1 yr int waranty for GX100 (but bo hua cause buy in singapore it 3 yr warranty rt?) GX100 Price (4580 w viewer, 3780 w/o viewer) almost same as the one mentioned on the clubsnap website except the warranty.

How much is the WA lens for GD2?

Any experience for GD2 in HK or even GX100 in HK? maybe I been to the wrong shop.
