Hi anyone heard of the golden, red or blue line lens attachment screw caps in town?
Saw some at the ricoh forum and they look really cool! =)
do you mean this?

YES Edesign!!! where can I get it from? CP say they dont carry them at all.....
Pls help!
Thank you so much! =)

got a new feature called auto aperture shift when overexposure occurs. Seems that some users get hang issues only when the camera seem to be not able to stop down aperture beyond what's it's able to do. i did kena myself.

can more users pls confirm this.:)

otherwise the new firmware is quite a big welcome, esp the WB shift and iso value display

ok just installed the new firmware... how do you get to this said aperture shift mode?

The white balance shift mode is really good.
:)

under camera menu, go down to last item. shd hav this aperture shift mode item. turn it on

try pointing at a very bright scene and intentionally set f2,4 in aperture prioty mode. usually AE! will show n overexpsoure occurs. but with this new feature, the camera auto stops down to a small opening..say e.g. f5.6 to properly expose image.

go try

hang dun blame me hor.. but some users in dpreview kena this problem

"The new FW is live, unfortunately, there is a serious problem in new Aperture Shift feature, causing the camera to freeze! The problem was first mentioned here:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read. ... e=28718608

Here are the reproducible steps:

- Set the camera to A mode
- Set the aperture to f2.4 (it does not matter what value you set)
- Set the ISO to 1600 (it does not matter what value you set)
- Set the Aperture Shift to ON
- Now point the camera to a strong light source and half press the shutter. If the light source is strong enough it does not really matter what aperture and ISO value you set. If the camera decides that the given aperture number is too low (too wide) for the available light, it raises its value. Once it reaches f9 and shutter time 1/2000, the camera locks up. The only cure is to remove the battery.

So my advice for now is to do not install this new FW or do not use the Aperture Shift feature. I'm sure Ricoh will soon issue a fixed FW."

I think all who uploaded the new F/w from the Jap website will sure have the problem.
Mine hangs this afternoon as well. Lets wait and see how Ricoh is going to debug the problem.

;)

i am curious do you all put your GRD2 in dry box/ dry cabinet?

hardly, cause i carry it around everywhere, everyday!

Thank you for the info!
An old friend from Cathay got me the yellow and red rings in the end!
Now my GR can go well with the L-lens or Trinity lens! hee :bsmilie:

what do you mean L-lens and trinity lens?
so how much did you pay for those rings?

Correct me if I am wrong but from what I understand both Canon and Nikon good prime lenses got red lines (canon) and Yellow/gold lines (nikon) around them. So if today I am shooting with canon friends I shall shoot with my red ring on. Nikon buddies yellow ring! :bsmilie:

A gift from the wise old friend of mine! They are not allow to sell in anyway. ;)

Speaking of the lens rings, anyone got a spare red one to let go? Have the blue & gold(yellow?), left the red to complete the collection
