Quite a number of us collected our K-5 this afternoon and of course bucket loads of money changed hands 
Will have to wait till tomorrow's outing to really road test this baby. For now, here's sharing a pic of the K-5 and it's box, which is quite classy looking I feel.
The very first pic shows shutter count 1! I'm very happy :vhappy:

Here is my contribution to this page.
On the exterior, its the same old K7, inside, is certainly very different. The shutter is even more muted than before (solid!)
General JPEG shots with NR on Auto. I would think a general user like me would set it to this (at leats until more experimentation). No point talking about ISO800 and lower. We all know its going to be good. So its all ISO1600 and above
FA43, f8, focus around the center bottle on the wording "Bickfords"

To me, its very usable up to 12800. Still plenty of details though noise is more obvious. Even 25600 is a bit more dirty, but still retaining details. (Maybe ISO3200 of K7 :think

Of course, ISO6400 is the "use without needing to think twice" level for me.
If I wanted a painting, I would use ISO51600
Seriously, still ok for small prints and personally, I'd still use it for B/W.

Wow! ISO6400 is very usable to me. I'll even consider using 12800 and 25600, if there's no other choice. Very nice.

But it is a really really good price.
So is the Kr. Can't speak for the K5, but for the Kr price, if its this same price on the streets, it will be KING of price/performance for 2010-2011 (like the Kx)
AF is certainly more skippy. Lens turns more hurriedly vs a K7. I'd say its improved, though nothing empirical. LV AF is very usable compared to K7 (quite like the video on Youtube that has been going around).
The thing that is so significant and scary to me is that these shots are at f8 and the shutter speeds range from 1/20 to 1/640 (over 1600 to 51200). ie. all would be possible hand hold speeds in real action.

From a Canon FF user, it's definitely very impressive. Will look forward to more postings, especially on portraits with some fast lenses. I will sit it out here for the next few days as I am very interested in K-5 for sure.
