Hi all,

When you go to your wifi settings, is it gopro app or phone/tablet option you all choose? My wifi setting is showing gopro app and remote rc.

Choose phone/tablet on your gopro.

My one is hero 3 Black edition. I have these options only 1.Off 2. Wifi RC 3.Gopro App 4.Cancel.

Now I can connect to my phone wifi. The problem is I set up my camera wifi password too complex. I put different special character in them. That's why I cannot connect. I check their website and they said I cannot put special character. So, I change my password and update again.

Now everything work fine. But preview is abit delayed. Any way to solve?

I also made the same mistake by putting the special characters in my password.
Is it normal to see the delay as it takes time to transmit the video wirelessly. Normally around 3 sec delay.

Those who have bot the Hero3 Black Edition, can confirm whether the wifi is working when the Hero3 goes underwater ?

I used the Sony AS15 Action camera and once it goes underwater, the wifi signal disconnects !

Is the Hero3 like that too ?

Morning drive around my village...probably around 6.45am.

TBH, I am quite impressed with the video quality considering its size and compactness...no sure why, but it picked up a lot of road noise which isn't actually there...

Another segment...about 7am. Not sure why, but it seems to be more grainy after I convert to avi, trim, convert back to mp4 and then upload it to youtube. I used cineform.

The real low-light(6.15am type of darkness) is very grainy. Once there is some available light, the video is really not bad.

What sort of battery life are you guys getting?

With wifi on and 1080 recording @30fps, I am down from 100% to 40% in 30mins. Seems very short and actually worse battery life than smartphones that are used as video cam?

I've done a single recording of about 1.28 hours at 1080@30fps, protune turned off.

This cam relies on light to give decent video quality. If filmed in poorly-lit areas, chances are you are unlikely able to see much.

Wah the prices for for acessories locally are damn expensive sia. FYI the battery back is only US$50 =p. The wifi does kill the batt quite fast. Seems the hero 2 had more decet batt life. I tested one running for 2+ hours 1080@30p pro tune off. Not sure how long the new one can record video with the wifi off though.

I tried the time lapsing usig the hero 3 black with the battery pac and with wifi on. It took 3 hours to drain the battery.
As for the accessories, I am using Vehos as some of its accessories are compatible to Gopro.

Isn't it much cheaper to buy Online directly from GoPro ?

Warranty seems to be the only advantage.
