I really liked the tilt live view LCD and IS in body. Truth is, there is nothing wrong with the camera at all.

I'm still a part of Sony/Minolta cos I still have my Minolta SLR. he he he. So I'll be here often.

Nice, I am holding out for 500D, i hope it comes out in early May. Then I can take to Hong Kong on the 8th and buy either the 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6IS USM (S$814) or 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM (S$1020) or 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS USM (S$1275).

Hi Rashkae,

I thought the Tamron 10-24 is only for N mount? or later C mount.....
Alpha mount is it out ?

It was a painful decision to sell off all my sony/minolta items but I had no choice as I had 2 systems and in the end, I decided to select Nikon due to the availability of many items and 3rd party items, and also their flash systems and ease of doing studio if I had to do one. I remember during my film days on Minolta cameras the hot shoe adapter didnt trigger the wireless studio strobes and I kinda gave up on Minolta for studio then. I sold off my A700 which i had fond memories with its nice ergonomics and its lovely colours but in the end, the items that I had in place to earn me some part time cash would be with my Nikons as I have a more complete system in place.

i think optics should be approached in a "this can make it" versus "this cannot make it for sure" , rather than "what is the best" comparison.

at the end of the day, all of these lenses can make decently sized prints, the performance improvement is so marginal, but we all want to chase chase chase to justify the lack of merit in our shots.

Hi All,

As for me, I'm gonna have to say good bye to the sony pals here in CS(Singapore). I'm still using my alpha setup and specifically using it widely for works with my studio lights and also landscapes and nature - not sure why ppl having problem with studio shoot with the alpha systems. Just like what Rashkae have said - e.g. a $15 solution that fix the problem.

I'm personally using it with the Elinchrom skyport with the Elinchrom 600RX and 500 Classic.
Frankly speaking, I have not felt in any way crippled as compared to users of other systems both in serious assignments to leisure - so no worries.

I'll be leaving Singapore next week and will be operating in Melbourne. Still doing my studio shoots there. So for you guys, remember, what ever system, its still about photography. No need to say good bye to systems, the systems are just tools that suits you.

Just look at when KM left the SLR industry, people who still have KM - alpha cameras still use their cameras and continue to enjoy to take picture. Unless for some, they would want to keep changing DSLR for every model release then its a different story.

So all I can say, get what you feel suites your needs. Share and enjoy the art.

Can't relate. I've not had any of the issues you describe, and earned money from studio shoots.

Ah well, to each their own.
 

Oo anyway you have already sold your gear,I m also using cannon in the past,well I think there isn't much different and believing the colors of sony are much richer , the muti-stick is very useful.Also the firmware had already update to four version. I had also using the 11-18 WA from sony there is no problems to caught the angle I want.

bro...can direct me to this hotshoe adaptor? Is it from tago tech? I am looking for it but prefer to self-collect and Cash On Delivery which tago tech did not allow...:dunno:

I agree. I got the same hotshoe from OP and it works fine for me too.

PS: U think u cant use wireless trigger with sony? My $15 adapter and $40 trigger works fine.

Y not let me tell u what C & N can't do instead?
- They cant AF on a CZ lens
- No IS in body.(pay more to get VR/IS lens)
- Flash can't turn like a Sony ones.(Maybe u will never know how useful it is)
- & more..

It's ur choice to change but don't affect the others.
