Good 4/3 lens for IR

Hoping to get some recommendation on which 4/3 lens is good for IR.

I just tested an Olympus 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 and there's visible hot spots

Correction: It should be micro 4/3 :embrass:

I just converter a Panasonic G1. Everything works fantastic except for the lens hot spot.

One good advantage of this camera is that it has a separate filter for dust cleaning. So the dust cleaning feature is maintained after conversion.

And because it's liveview, you can see the actual IR effect on the viewfinder/LCD before pressing the shutter release

Sharing some info
Tested a Panasonic 20mm m4/3 lens, no hotspots

Thanks to those who send some links on Olympus IR

Wow. Thanks for sharing this info. If I had known earlier, I may not have gotten rid of my Panasonics :embrass:

Can I check where you got the G1 modified?

Alamak, you must know that fatigue is a well-known personality in clubsnap. I'm sure he did the conversion himself. And he can do same for your cam too.

Thanks Shierwin, I'm not that popular :embrass:

I didn't managed to get some nice samples, I'm not a good photographer and had to return the camera to the excited owner. ;)
He mentioned it's better than his previous DSLR IR :dunno:
Hopefully he can send me some picture samples to post

Moderators, Please help update the list of IR capable cameras
Lumix 14-45 kit lens no hot spots
Panasonic 20mm F1.7 no hot spots
Olympus 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 with visible hots spot

This M4/3 is actually a much better idea than trying to get a second dslr for IR. With the adapters available range of lens available are fantastic besides its much lighter when travelling ! I ll probably go in that direction.

Now I regretted selling away my E-P1 ;p
Should have kept it and have it modded by fatigue

Fear not ! I think the prices and options will only get better in the future. I suspect the major names like canon and nikon will soon get into m4/3 as well. The market is getting too large to ignore ;)

will using m4/3 camera for IR and normal shootings over some time affects the sensor adversely as to create dead pixels, etc

Hello fatigue, How to arrange with for mod my camera for IR
