Thank for the Organize and willing share for the knowledge.

Thanks, Wildcat!
Funny how you mention that the wide angle lens help me to create a nicer image.
I've been cursing this lens on and on coz I need to do a lot of correction on the perspective distortion.
Probably I need to learn how to use this lens more properly :D

What lens are you using? Nowadays I am too lazy to be bothered :embrass:

WC#4 - the landscape series.

Though there are many foreground elements, I find it uncluttered and not messy, the tones compliment this very well, in my pov lah..
I like this

Thanks, bro. I took quite a number of different angles, distances, etc. This was the one where the chair stood out most, and I felt, could pull the viewers attention despite the bright lighted area on the right side, thus I chose this. Glad it works for you.

Ok. I looked at the pavilion picture... it is tilted to the right, but very little, around 1 degree.

It may look much more tilted because the water edge of the reservoir is not perpendicular to the direction of the camera angle. Also the buildings are no help because the ones on the left are nearer, and they are of different height.

Another issue, there seems to be a little keystone (perspective) distortion as well and that was not taken care of properly... that made the outer pillars (especially the big one on the left) lean in, making the picture look more tilted that it is.

So, it is tilted, but only a little. But the way the composition is done, and the keystone distortion, made the whole picture looked a lot more tilted than it is. The way to fix this picture, is actually to shoot it much wider. So some of that effect is minimized.

Good to see so many of you are becoming verticals police... Will become good lanscape and building photographers... but also, remember to take it easy a bit... after all, it is just a picture. Well done folks... keep up the good work.

Thanks, and great to hear from you, bro...

Oh no my bad to post such a tilted picture

I have been trying very hard to straigten it , but somehow it just look tilted.
Will try to shoot with wider angle next time :)

Any other bros with station 2 picture??

Actually, you posted a good capture, that allows some sparks here in this forum and also giving me a chance to put better use to what I learned from DD123.

Thanks...

Thanks to Ghaz1 for organizing the event. These are some of my shots from the outing. It is a wonderful scene to view the sun rising over the sky and shining down onto the reservoir.

Looking toward more outings. :)

What do you think about the branches on top of the image, is it produce a nice framing or just disturbing?

#2 - Before Sunrise 2

Same angle without the branches

Your pictures have great quality & awesome! Hope to see more!!!..

For the silhouette pic, it might be better if you had shot from a lower angle for this pic. That way, you get more distinct, fuller shadow of the two taichi masters, rather than having them cut off at half body lengths. Just a thought :)

Before the sun rise-up to the sky

Sunrise from the horizon

Your first two photos are spectacular. Good capture of the day's fantastic weather!

I thought you all going to shoot at the jetty :(.

Nvm, the sky is pretty today. Here my shots:

I was shooting from the jetty, but I think from the other side from you (coz, when I shoot the sun, I get the full jetty) ;p

Err.. is that called a jetty? The floating platform thingie.

ISO Speed 200
Exposure 0.033 sec (1/30)
Aperture f/11.0
Focal Length 10 mm

I did a +2 sharpening when converting from RAW using ViewNX2 software, which may not have been a good idea. Should have left it with no sharpening. Anyway lemme know what you think.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm

Thanks for the compliment, Jacob
But still a long way to achieve the quality of your pictures
Love the 'Nice place for resting', the colour is just amazing

@Wildcat : Yup. That "thing" is jetty. U shot from the other side. Interesting. WC#5 small version is better. The big version can see the noises very obvious due to either sharpening or fill light

Btw, I want to ask you, why do we need to turn off the IS?

Because your IS is still working despite the lens being on a tripod which is already (or should be) stable and this may lead to slightly blurred pictures.

Good use of boardwalk railings as leading line to the sunrise

Splendid shot & lovely colour saturation..:)

Thanks guys :)

Originally, I thought the watercolour-like patterns on the water were due to oversharpening, but I just tried converting from RAW again and it was the same. Then I tried with a couple other over-exposed pics and the water's still like that. So I guess was how it was.

I think the noise is, if any (I thought can only see at max reso), is from lousy camera :embrass:
