I am not sure how participants would like me to assist.

Here are some simple thoughts. I think there will be at least three sessions

1 The first will be on exposing the negative. I will have to explain a little of the zone system (do not worry! just very simple concepts that will help you to decide how to expose the negative). Then participants will go and take pictures.

This session is mostly "talk"! I can take as many people as there are space in my office - which is about 10-15. Or more if we can find a bigger place.

2 Developing the negatives and evaluating them. This session will be a little more troublesome because we will need chemicals, tanks, beakers etc. Participants will need to bring their own stuff. I have some to lend to those who have nothing. But at most only for 5 persons.

3 Printing. This is the most troublesome because we need enlargers. Mine is a make-shift darkroom, and I can only have maximun two persons with me. There will be people who will only wish to develop negatives and scan them. So probably there will be less people than those who want only to develop their negatives. For those who want to do trad printing, you must have a source to do your own printing. For these people, I can try to arrange to have two persons at a time over a period.

I value any input to add, change, and modify the above thoughts.

Thanks!

Well doc..if only I'm the darkroom manager in singapore instead of sydney, I could've have helped you out. Overall I think it's a good idea. If we could do a slide show of prints for the workshop illustrating the different points, that would be even better.

As shooting itself, what do you have in mind? A studio? Outoors? Or free for all? If its any of those, I would favour a change of lighting in order to facilitate the practise of judging zones.

Wow, student is going to conduct a workshop? Interesting. :)

I would like to join.
Just got my dad's rangefiner serviced and would really like to know more abt trad B&W photography.
But I'm one of those who doesnt have anything at all.
May I be one of the five who will borrow your stuff? :)

Wow learn Student's secret I sure go.

Me too....

I would surely be there and have a interest to learn as much as I possibly can.

Well, it seem that there is little ideas on how else I should conduct this "workshop".

I will then do what I think might be useful.
