Yeah, today's pentax lenses are very expensive...

Scorpioh, everything lenses seem to be going out in prices. The culprit is because of greater demand due to adapters for 4/3rd format, canon eos, etc etc... Even the humble M42 mounts lenses are steadily increasing in prices which of course isn't very good for people like me.

If only, I've started a year earlier. hahaha... as Fengwei has told me before, the prices since March 09 have been slowly marching upwards. Oh well... do you have a cure for LBA?

Ah. Yeah, I think I am pretty fortunate to start as a Pentaxian some 1 1/2 years back, where Pentax is still that ulu ulu brand in s'pore. Fore-sight ah... ^^ I do have a cure for LBA and I had more or less been cured from LBA, less those impulse buy once in a while for rare lenses:

Buy them all! O:

Wahroazzz.... that's not a cure. hahahaha... that's giving in to LBA. I keep thinking of opportunity cost and stop any impulse buying. :P

I think giving in is the only cure. Ha. Opportunity cost is really high if i miss a hard to find lens!

Nah... your cure is being convinced that limited lenses are THE lenses to have, so once you have all of them, no more urge to BBB. But once they release a new limited lens, the LBA is back, stronger than ever! :bsmilie:

I am in serious LBA danger then... I'm convinced that CSJ lenses are THE lenses to have.

I think this is very off topic. Will start a new thread. Apologies to TS.

Great to hear from you Gengh. Ha, you are quite right! Fortunately they did not label that newest DFA 100mm Macro as "limited", so still got a bit of lee-way.

hi guys, i did manage to get a lens hood for my k-x. However its a cheap 3rd party lens hood for about $15.

Just one question, when I take a picture with flash, there is a shadow at the top of my picture. When I remove the hood, the shadow does not appear. So i would assume the shadow was caused by the hood. Is this normal ??

can i know where u get ur 3rd party lens hood? thanks...

for the KX kit lens 18-55 and 55-300, it is really advisable to get a hood for both of them?

which hood will work best on each lens, the petal or the round, or the collapsible(rubber type) ones.

I bought this one for my FA50, less than $6 including shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200384315143
Quite convenient to use, I can screw on the UV filter in front of it and then put the lens cap over the filter, and leave the whole hood+filter+cap on permanently.

ronald: For wide angle lenses like the 18-55mm you definitely want a petal. Telephoto lenses will typically use cylindric.

tnx for this info. will there be any performance diff between those rubber, plastic , metal?

Not really.. as long as it is black and opaque to block light.
