Which display? CCA Display in 1st intake or 2nd intake? Open House display in Oct 06?Wow, JoshSiao, I still think SAJC photographic society is good. I almost choose to go there after visiting for a day at the beginning of the year. The photos you all had on display were GOOD.
Which display? CCA Display in 1st intake or 2nd intake? Open House display in Oct 06?
Cause Open House we hung pics on strings, 1st intake CCA display was erm, set up on that day, the person-in-charge "forgot and did nothing" and 2nd intake, we just sat in dark room, open the door and tell people to come in see (Dark Room is very dank, its below a staff toilet upstairs and flanked by the ground floor toilet as well)
In the end, most of the pics are taken by two or three people only:dunno:.
Or, are you refering to the A3 size pics at the blue boards outside the General Office. 75% of them are taken by one person (Malcolm Koh Sheng Wei) 05/06 batch and he used a 20D. He's very good especially at sports. None taken by sch's cam. At that time, only got D70 DSLR. I had to convince the teacher to get the D80 by telling her the D70 rated shutter passed and it MIGHT die.
Or outside some LTs? That pics we didn't choose, the principal did.:bsmilie:

Yeah, 20D AND the great 70-200mm f/2.8L I only had one photo there, a shot up a tree in the botanical gardens taken on a crappy old 2MP camcorder. Every exhibition was practically overshadowed by alot of his photos (He was that good and the rest of the society was that bad) Even this year after his graduation, we were still printing his photos. But at least I have made my mark too. You've got a 1D Mark III and the trinity. (Your siggy is funny) Lucky lucky. If theres official events you'll look pro. I remember last year when I had to cover SAV Opening Ceremony (with Minister of Education and other bigshots) some hired photogs were looking at me in a funny manner. One even asked me, are you using a prime? I was using my 30D and a manual focus Nikkor P.C 105mm f/2.5 for most of the event, switching between kit lens and a 75-300mm.Uhm... I refer to the boards near the fountain area... those are great photos. 20D... I should have guessed... same camera I brought along that day.
Yeah, at the end of this year. Apparently not just student's expectations but also some higher ups.and yea SAJC principal might not be as good in ways students expect. she's leaving soon or so i heard.
Oooo the equilivant of the Chief Photographer in SAJC. I was photog president though but I did some duty handouts too. You should see the excuses they give for NOT wanting to cover or only want to go for certain events. SAJC photog is a sad case where most join becasue its been a last resort CCA or had a misconception that event coverage is an excuse for ponning lessons. They join, also everything dunno how to use, some even unwilling to learn, dun want to carry heavy DSLR and want the PnS. Only one or two per year have vested interest in photography and that keeps the society going at any rate. The teacher-in-charge has told me that she wants to give up and shut down and let it merge with AVA, which I said no way!Hey... I'm in charge of both organizing who covers what event, and hold a duplicate key to the darkroom... We aren't restrictive or harsh like your example... come join NYJC photog
Anyway, I try not to ask the same person to cover events in a row, nor force people with a valid excuse to go...
And I DO know how to use the accessories in the darkroom... barring the old film developing kit...
