***I need some help here. People want to join please but ur name on the waiting list or pm/mail me as i stated n times ,otherwise,even people who come after u but do according to the rules will take the places, there are still places since all members agree to stretch the group. And the more the merrier.

* Time : 11/11/2006 9.30 meeting at the durian - part at about 11.30-12 cause the members some want to go here,some want to go there (boat race,motorshow) and some busy.
* Plan : Walk around,decided by the group cause i don't know singapore well. :sweat: Anyway 2hours,not much to walk.

hi guys.. got some info about the singapore regatta i posted about a few days back.. first event starts at 9.30am, and its on the SG river.. officials tent and all that are in front of the UOB building and UOB carpark. starters tent is at elgin bridge and the route is between elgin bridge and somewhere near cavenagh bridge. its along boat quay, so pretty accessible.. anyone game to go on sat?

He means Good telephoto lens,i think,bring vr or is lens would be good,tripod is ok,would be lot people around,can't stable. I prefer vr cause tripod not so easy to go around.

- On Sat look like i really can't come , my teacher father got heart attack and still can't recover. He just came back from India and conduct extra class,his time table quite tight cause he go back to india for 2,5 weeks. Of course i can skip the class,but exam coming, and our class is quite slow and this subject i'm not good. And my attendent is low,i need attendent cause i'm not singaporian,require that for student pass approval. And he is in a rush so he can have some free time to go India. He just inform us only.

- Firstly i'm sorry,as the thread stater,i should be there,but...hope u understand,i can't really explain. I was trying like find another class,take lecture from other teacher,but won't work. So....hope u guys have fun,the outing still going but AndrOo will take my place in organizing. Thanks AndrOo.

What do you mean good lens?

Due to the far distance between the spectator stand and the dragon boats, you will need a lens that enable you to "zoom" far enough. A normal PnS or kit lens might not be too helpful.

Bahibo is right, need to have a good stable tripod with that kind of lens. 2 reasons:
a) with the large magnification, a slight shake will damage the sharpness
b) this type of lens tend to be heavy too

yup.. went under the sun for the singapore river regatta.. Haha.. after which me and with_brokenwings went to the car show while the rest went back as they got something on.

the car show as not bad, but hard to take pics of those exotic car as they're quite a distance away from the public and since i've no slave flash, it's really very hard to shoot them, as for other cars there quite a big crowd so have to wait till not so much ppl around the car then can take pics of them.. still sorting them out all my pics.. haha.. saw the guy i was telling you guys about. will pm you guys of his link.. :bsmilie:
