Dear G3 Band of Bros (oops and Sis),

When I use ACDSee software to view the JPEGs photo taken with G3 in PC, the Metadata doesn't show the ISO speed Number. But my old Oly C2040 does! IF there anything I need to set in the G3 setting before ISO speed number can be captured with the photo together?

hey kevin ..

try using zoombrowser lah .. it's provided together wif the cam .. u can see ur ISO speed # there ..

me never tried using ACDSee tho .. :dunno:

i heard IrFan View is also quite a good s/w to use.. has see the histogram as well.. :thumbsup:

Thanks, didn't try out the enclosed software yet. Will try it out. BTW, can it do screen saver for PC. Like create a file with 20 photos and flip through them continuosly during screen saver session on PC?

Depand on your need for most people, we rather scratch/damage the UV filter instead of the lens it self. Hoya UV filter 58mm only $10 so can spoil 10 also never mind. To have this protection, you need the lens tube. No choice lor! Must buy in this case. With the protection on, then you don't have to worry about cleaning the lens, only clean the filter.

If you don't mind me long winded then share a story with you. One day, I thot my G3 lens has a small patch of dirt so I blow a breath and use a chamois to wipe. Suddenly, my G3 lens covered with big patch of white colour thing. The fibers from the chamois drop onto the lens. Yes, may be the chamois is lousy but if I have a filter and I am cleaning the filter when this happen, then simple solution: throw away the filter and buy another one. In my situation, I have to use another microfiber cloth to clean slowly to lift up all the fibers on the lens and it take me few days to do it because there is some static that hold the fibers to the lens. ;(

another note .. if we were to use a tc or wc .. a lens adapter is a MUST ahh .. if not how to mount the converters ??

an original Canon adapter costs $30 and a Hoya UV filter costs $8 ..

My lens has a small patch of something on it too, can't be removed though i wipe it with the lens cloth, any idea?

i don't intend to use any lotions, as I heard it might stain the lens (yellowish) over time?

Just wondering if you guys got any accessories for your G3. So far all I've bought is an extra 256mb Ridata CF card.

I'm looking to buy a tripod (any recommendations?) Hopefully 1.5-2 foot long when collapsed.

Also considering a 420EX flash. CP quoted me $370.

And finally the lens adaptor with a filter. Get Lensmate or OEM or Canon? Don't feel the teleconvertors are useful to me at this stage but that could change.......
