u can consider Slik Pro 500DX too .. $150 oni (from CP) .. steady legs .. me used it on sheares bridge .. it stayed rooted to the ground thruout the whole shooting ..

Went to the botanical gardens yesterday to try shooting

No additional lenses
No tripod
No light (raining)

Pictures turned out damn bad:cry:

there's a new silk tripod from CP costs at $160 man.. its damn solid.. the guy told me its specially for DC and frm japan .. n its damn light...

but me broke liao.... :cry:

that's the tripod that's selling for ~$75 at Alan Photo and MS Color right? The Slik Pro Sprint GM? It feels a bit flimsy for use...

Cathay Photo probably quoted the list price. Anyway, do try out the tripod and others. I somehow feel that the legs are not as stable as some supposedly lesser tripods (e.g. Slik U9000).

Probably so. The G1 came out in September 2000. The G2 was released in August 2001. The G3 in September 2002...... seems like one per year, doesn't it? Time to start saving up for G4, then.
