keen in getting an Oly E-P1 but worried abt the lack of a built in flash..
am a newbie to photography so kinda have a tendency to use flash in low light environment..

would like to know if i can get clear (minimal motion blur/ camera shakes) should i take a pic in low light envt?..
say taking a pic along orchard road or during a wedding dinner?..

Based on your requirements, you will most likely require a Canon or Nikon camera which has high ISO capabilities. Or use any camera with a flash gun. Don't think a E-P1/2 will suit your needs. But that said, I have shot low light/ night shoot with a tripod as seen in my sample images.

i was hoping to shoot handheld..
i tink i am too demanding..

went to try the camera at courts last night..
like the build and overall feel of the cam..
but no chance to try it in low light condition...

sighh..

If you are referring to these things, I shot them handheld... and the lighting was really low... no problem for uncle like me, no problem for you. All you need is to learn proper handling techniques.

Trust me, its technique. My younger Jedi trainees can do 2 seconds on moderate wide angle lenses. Yes, they were shot on pancake...

The hippo was shot on a 50-200 regular 4/3 lens, manual focus.

someone on the forum wants to trade his E-P1 with my LX3 tats why i am considering to change..
of course with top-up from me..

but its 14mm - 42mm kits lens..
so i dun tink i can get pics like yours from above?..
so i still need to get the pancake.. any idea on price for pancake?

Sounds like a good deal.

Yes, you will be investing in lenses, but wait until the new m43 lens that will be released early next year to consider purchasing decisions.

And yes, you can get shots like those above with the kit lens.

been looking at the pics from my LX3 just now..
realised that i seldom use the flash to take pics anyway..
hahah..

so leaning twds E-P1 now..
ahah..

hope my deal goes through man..

Here is one that I find very nice, specially because of the parking sign. The driving behaviour is really bad here in Slovenia, so those kind of signs are probably best. And I see them for the first time.

Sign says: You took my parking place. Would you also take my disability?

The E-P1 and the 20mm f/1.7 does macro....

The flower is only 1/4 of the frame, after cropping (1024x768), the details are still there, and the E-P1 renders purple beautifully.
