Received the 20mm from the Japan MO and had not much time to shoot with it. Creative juice also drying up...

Anyway, the lens is really sharp even wide open!

But bokeh is nothing to sing about. Compared to a full-frame, the f1.7 bokeh looks like f2.8 or even smaller. And there's a lot of DOF even at f1.7 and so no need for critical focusing.

I find art filters on the EP1 a little hard to play with. The LCD screen image gets too jerky. Totally not smooth. I am using a class 4 card.

14-42mm lens + Macro mode, C&C welcome.

Qn: Why doesn't the image show when using the insert image function?

Sorry but both subjects are not in focus where it needs to be. Keep shooting!!

weekh, did I see u buy and sell an EP1 twice over??!!!

BTW, the bokeh is very smooth! Oh...and I disagree about the DOF. It seems quite narrow already judging that the mickey mouse hands, tip of hat are a little blurry already. The DOF seems to be centered around the dimension of the face and not more than that. That is not quite enough DOF to play around with actually. And for group shots, there is a strong likelihood that some faces would be OOF.

Thanks for the feedback :)

#1 was cropped, cldn't help it, will try again sometime!
#2 where should the focus be?

Yesterday I bought my pen from Harvey Norman warehouse sale at S$1098 zoom kit plus 2 pieces 8Gb cards ...just some crop and level or contrast adjust

Here are some test shots

But you would not be taking group shots so close to them like mickey mouse above, assuming this pic is not cropped.

u strike the bulll eye.

If u are using a 17mm f2.8 at f2.8, and it is a 2-3 person shot, u would. If the faces are out of plane but anything more than 2 cm, 1-2 faces will be out of focus.

But ur point is taken on closeness of the focusing point.

Right on the center of the flower. Not the petals. I think it is called the stigma.

I don't see any stigma or pistil

hey everyone, just got my E-P1 for almost a month now and it's been a wonderful camera. Have been using the kit 14-42mm lens to take these. Minor post processing to crop and adjust contrast a little (the camera is known to overexpose a little too much at times?)

comments and guidance welcomed

nw thinking if i should get a ep1 too

What I particularly like about the e-p1 live view is that one can meter different areas in the scene (and even out of the scene/frame) and control in live view mode the final exposure of the subject. Here is a simple example. Also good for portraits...
