Haha... And I go and get a Nikon SB400... :embrass:

After much research then found out either I get Canon 220EX or Sunpak PZ40X... Anyone please can enlighten here?...

Thanks in advance.

Cheers! ;)

tripod is preferable... i think i will get the flash much later as i am trying not to use flash in the first place.. however, if flash is really required.. try getting one that allows you to bounce , rather than fixed. by the way.. tried sunpak pz42x, it cannot sync with G9 ...

just got my self a tripod.. now to find a nice time to go out for night shots

Thanks for the infor, thats means no go for WA  How about the base and arms, can I use the INON system for the G9 too?
Don't quite get what you mean.. but if I'm not wrong, all base/arms can be used with any model of housing. Do correct me if I'm wrong!;p

Hello Gaofar,

The image with iso80 under such light already quite clear, iso200 starts grainy... Thanks!!! :D:

read in dpreview ( i think) .. pz40x needs to be 2nd gen in order to work with g9 or something.. not so sure, but i think best to bring cam to try when buying... speedlite 220ex should be ok.. just that no bounce/tilt..

Yeah... I know the limitations of the 220EX... I was thinking of perhaps of fitting a Stofen diffuser or even perhaps Gary Fong's Origami or Puffer model of diffuser to bounce the flash... Opinions guys? ;)

Hi guys, I'm planning to get extra batteries. As for 3rd party ones, what are the ones you guys are using, how much and where you got them from?

Hi sis, 3rd party ones can get for as low as $30-$35 if I remember correctly. But do please get them from a reputable source/brands. Else, please stick to original as I've had a bad experience with 3rd party battery melting in my Ixus before. Not a pretty sight.

gaofar ,

i bought the pz42x w/o testing on G9.. went home, spent 2 hrs figuring out before giving up and going back to shop, where they also couldnt get it to sync.. finally they took it back and i used it to downpay the 400d..

re: 3rd party batts..

i'm using those DiPower batts from MS .. canon original batt is NB-2LH.. the 3rd party is CN-NB-2L.... so far so good tho.. luck the g9 and 400d using the same batts..

You can try eastgear, no complaints so far.

hey..jus bought a G9...thinking of buying a tele converter or wide converter...anyone actually bought the raynox one?..can give some suggestions on which one to buy..??..thx

Hi bro njmingz,

Welcome to "G9-club"! I had a Canon tele-converter and it's been great so far. Was currently now saving to get the Raynox wide-angle lens. You can look at this to have a better comparison:

Hi, just got myself a G9 and looking for a wide angle lens too. Went to Alan Photo and they recommended the Digital King wa lens as an alternative. It is any feedback or reviews on it especially when compared with the Canon or Raynox lenses? Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Digital King? Stay away from that. It's rubbish. Tried a friend's copy and the results were horrible :bsmilie:

hey thx...how much u bought the canon lens + the lens adapter?...btw...if u free can go here to view some photos and feel free to give some comments for me to improve..thank you...me still quite noob..lol..

Finally decided to add a G9 to my set of personal weapons. Even tho I am Nikon fan, they don't seem to have something that looks like the G9. Cost me $799 with the usual 2gb package and a screen protector. Decided to get a screen protector online from
https://www.shieldzone.com/item_description/CANG9.html
together with a set for my D300 and my Nokia E90 though.
Not a bad purchase(considering I can make a claim of $700 from the MOE...) Will fully test its capabilities on my trip come new year...
