As I said, CA is fairly common for prosumer, with or without tkon. Its nothing to worry about. Even DSLRs with decent lens will have CA too.

Eh Melvan, sorry have to disagree with you there. not all prosumers give CA, and usually CA is less likely with smaller lenses/sensors. actually FZ18 has very well controlled CA. As a normal rule of thumb CA usually happens with bigger aperture lenses at the standard to ultra wide range. To me CA is more of a dSLR problem. (Unless you use primes? ^^)

The only reason why there are less CA is because the Fstop of prosumers stop down by alot when you zoom.

Less CA also doesnt mean no CA. So I am still right in my speech above. In fact i should change it a little. I should say, almost all prosumers and dslrs have CA. Even compacts have CA too :P

Just dun pixel peep and you will do fine :D

Hello all, do we have a venue and time for Sunday?

no plan yet from what i see, and the attendance wasn't very healthy, so i guess u all should go ahead with the tree top

Aye, that sounds better, dun pixel peep and you'll do fine is correct too.

Hm, but his case seems abit bothering to him, i duno,

Skyguy are you planning to get the TCON-17? Or upgrade to DSLR already? ^^

Hi everyone, I might have to miss the photo shoot this weekend when we arrive. I think I may be off to the Doctor in the morning. Right now I am suspecting gout, my second toe on my left foot has become swollen quite a bit, and feels like it is broken. I have done nothing to aggravate my foot, it has just become very painful since after lunch today. I have never had gout before.
I googled gout and read up about it and think the only thing I have done is I have not been drinking very much water.
The boss (Amy) is going to make a Doctor appointment for me tomorrow, need to get it correctly diagnosed and get medication before I get on the plane Sat. afternoon.
So right now the tree top walk looks out of the question this weekend.
I have, since googling, started to pump in the sky juice. If my sore toe doesn't keep me awake all night, having to go to the toilet will.
I have known a few people who have had gout and they say it is very painful, they were not lying.

Oh ok, there isnt really a solid plan for this sunday anyway. So you dun have to worry about it.

nah... not getting tcon17 or dslr...

Hi Rob, sounds like its troubling you a bit, and you're a little worried so that got you to find out a little more about "gout". I just want to say (strictly opinion only), you should keep an open mind as you haven't received an official diagnosis by a trained medical professional. Don't let anxiety over-run you. Stay strong pal.

Hi guys, went to the Dr this morning, he says it is not gout, it is arthritis. Could have been originally from an old ice hockey injury. Have a prescription for some pain killers and a med cert to have Friday off work yeeha!!! Hope all my old injuries are not going to play up like this. It is a mongrel getting old.:(

What time are you guy alighting tomorrow?

Hi Melvan, we arrive at 9:30 pm, Hanson and Yen Li are meeting us at the airport. Do you want me to bring you anything from Oz? I will be sitting around all day waiting to depart.
Foot is feeling quite a bit better today. Have taken Suzuki and boat around to friend's house. Will leave the Honda at Aunty Chor San's place. Everything is done.

wow... i got an idea in mind... going to the airport early before u arrive, so tat we can do some airport shoot... t1 t2 t3... should have lots to explore... but too bad i have morning shift job tml... if not i might join navlem

Good morning all, woke up this morning at 5:30am like an excited little kid. Only have to wait about twelve hours until it is time to head to the airport I have been looking through other threads and have been drooling quite a bit over Grumpy's food shots. I don't think Amy likes to look at his pictures cuz it really makes her homesick when she sees all the wonderful food that she misses.

My sore foot is feeling much better today, but I think a tree top walk this weekend is out of the question, might have to wait a week.

Amy has not been to Marina Barrage, so might go there Sunday afternoon about 5:00pm. Apparently there is a shuttle bus at the Marina Bay MRT leaving every 10 minutes to the Barrage. So seeing that no-one likes to organize outings I am going to suggest a Sunday evening shoot at Marina Barrage, meeting at Marina Bay MRT at 5:00 pm.
Plan on Sunset shots, night light shots then catch a shuttle bus back to city for makan somewhere. (see that wasn't so hard, was it?)

Please add names to list if you intend to come.

Navlem (melvan, he dun know about it yet but I am sure he will want to see his Mum):bsmilie:

Count me in! (oh i'm in already) :P

sorry i can't! its daddy's day tomorrow so we have to celebrate it!

I'm back!!!!!!! And very happy to be here again. Had a good flight and were met at airport by step son and daughter in-law who by the way is now a mother to be. The news was broken to us on Mothers Day and that sent Amy absolutely over the moon. Which also explains her desire to spend more time here in S/pore.
There is nothing more important than family, nothing gives you more joy, and sometimes heart ache, but in the end the joy always out-weighs the truly petty differences we are challenged with.
Happy Daddies Day to everyone. We have ours later in Oz I think?
The weather here seems warm, we were starting our "Dry Season" in Darwin, temperatures at night were getting down to 14 degrees C at night, quite pleasant.

We are going to Marina Bay Barrage this evening, meeting at Marina Bay MRT at 5:00 pm, taking a few shots at sunset, some of the night lights and then heading back into the city.

Vinze and Stacey I will PM you to give you Amy's hand phone number later so we can arrange a meeting.
Amy has a different number in Singapore, and I refuse to own a hand phone. Everyone else is still asleep so had better go down and have a swim.

Hope to catch up with everyone over the next 3 weeks.:):):)

Back from the barrage, will post some pics here once im done editing. :)

Hi Melvan this last one is the shot using that Vitacon 2.5 T Con not very good at all, glad I gave it a miss.
P1050324_1_.JPG

Quite grainy and with halo around man.:thumbsd: The other shots were even worse, will compare to Olympus TCon 17, if similar might just forget about Tcon and maybe look at fish eye? What do you think?

I think the grains is because of the ISO needed to counter the shake from the hand?

Yeah the halo is very obvious from all the pictures taken with this camera.

Anyway here is the link for the drifting event, you see if you are interested
