FZriends Thread (FZ18 & FZ28 users and ex-users group - part II)

yea thinking of upgrading unless someone buy my fz18... but i got a camp this july and aug, and my responsibility at tat camp was to be a "photographer"... so without my fz i dunno wat camera to use... some more haven't decide... then have to quickly get use to new toy before the camp... and need to know which lens to use...
won't be able to make a deal until may as i am having exam soon... and by the time i deal, i will have like 1 month to get a new camera and get use to it...

so conclusion is, abit not sure also...

Hi guys, sorry I have been busy fishing in the new (second hand) SS Lollipop and have been trying to get Amy interested in fishing. She seems to like it especially if we manage to pick up a few mud crabs also. Have not been taking too many photos, but I have one week of holidays coming up and because I am going into hospital for a minor procedure I will not be allowed to fish. I am only in overnight but will not be able to fish for about 2-3 weeks. So it will be snap snap snap, thinking about driving to Kununurra in Western Australia and taking Amy to the Ord River Dam and Lake Argyle where the diamond mine is located. It probably means camping which Amy is not too keen on. Might have to hire a fancy camper trailer.
Have to get her out of the city and into the outback so she can experience this huge country before we retire in S/pore. What ever we decide to do I will post some pics soon.

We got three last Saturday, btw that is a full size dinner plate.

Ahem, Camp.. haha, I don't want to really start you on a BBB and say whats good and whats not! =X But lets just say for camp... I'm thinking external flash. Upgrade, I assume will be a DSLR, just kit lens + flash will work.

Me, I don't know what to recommend my teacher. I'm actually looking at FZ50, FZ20 and FZ18... FZ18 has 28mm wide and extra ranges... FZ20 is cheap with the F2.8 zoom but seems a little on the old side and less user friendly... FZ50 has bigger sensors and lens, and DSLR controls, but it seems like a bit more noisier due to the high pixel count. hmm... Hard to shop for other people yar? hah.

Any inputs? My teacher basically wants something versatile for trekking (day and nights). Though I thought the night part was bit unrealistic.

$450 body and lens... almost impossible price...lol .. anyway forum i see all the price is very near first hand price, and those below 500 are those of older cam 350D... and $500+ for 350D is equal to sian

to dkk08, the person might have key-in the setting of the camera himself when he is editting the photo...

i guess his teacher wan more control, coz its either prosumer or dslr...

yea... i thinking of maybe up my price a bit and go for nikon D60... 1st hand is $890 with kit lens... 2nd hand should be able to get a good price... but than again... i think i will just use my fz18 for now
