I think AP selling at $30, I get mine from Eastgear more expensive $34.95, they claim it's made in Japan
It shd be compatible with FZ30, but seem a little bit tight when I slot in to my FZ7 :dunno:

When I checked with the Panasonic (USA) website, I noticed that under accessories, they put the FZ7 batteries as the same as the FZ30's.

Original battery cost $70???

If memory serves, the original battery (P/N CGA-S002, I think) is $70, or thereabouts.

One quick question, what do you guys think about the Silicon Power 1 GB SD Card Ultima?

It is selling for $54.00 and I'm thinking of getting this with the FZ7.
If I not wrong, Active photo at sim lim selling 133x SD Card A-Data 2GB for less then $100

anyone can confirm the price? so cheap, is it reliable. am interested in getting if it's less than $100.

yup, i think i saw it too, but im not sure about the quality and reliability of the card. mabe you can try getting Kinston Ultimate 2GB at about $120+ or ElitePro at about $100 from videopro in SLS. Kinston sounds more reliable than A-data to me aleast

I'm using 2G AData 60x, so far no problem, infact they have lifetime warranty as well.
Here some samples for macro 5 cm and 3 cm, those picture just resize (no crop).
I notice for manual focus minimum only 5cm, but auto focus can be 3cm.

you mean AF at macro mode or just normal AF can focus up to 3cm?

Those shoots, using shutter priority mode not in macro mode

Think you are correct. Double checked my source and the P/N I provided is incorrect. :embrass: Apologies

Thanks! Now i am getting closer to getting a FZ7... was thinking between this and Canon S3.

OK, just got my FZ7:lovegrin: Got a couple of questions for the experience users.

1) Does the SD card need to be formated before use?

2) There is this adapter on the lens that is made of plastic. I think it is for the lens hood and filters. It does not look to be very strong. Any problems with it?

1) best is format the SD card before using it
2) yes, it is the adapter which enable you to screw filters on it. If possible try to look for a 3rd party one that is made of metal. it more lasting than the default plastic adapter

FZ7 taken using F8.0, 10 sec, manual mode.

hi
odd.....why are you taking night shots at F8? You should make your camera as fast as possible, i.e. as close to f2.8 as your camera settings will allow...
cheers

I wanted to make the star effect :)

i also got mine today. still charging right now.
did u not try to bargain with them. salesmen were quite nice and they gave me extra 256MB SD card and screen protector. also got it interest free installment.
would like to check if the cam include lense adapter; was at suntec, see that the camera does not have any thread to install UV filter etc.
