Was preparing for my trip to AH tomorrow (hope it doesn't rain) and found the Olympus TCON-17. So I attached it to the Vivitar 105mm to see the result, maybe use it to gain more working distance for butterflies.:bsmilie: To my surprise, it works pretty well & it gave me much more working distance, but at 1:1 macro it only gives me like 1:1.5/2 macro. But it's good enough for butterflies

But not very good... In fact, not good at all... Abusing the company's trust in us.
Somemore, my boss reads clubsnap and trolls this forum occassionally.
And his boss reads clubsnap too... Though not that extensively...

I'll -probably- be headed to the Bishan area on Fri afternoon, so those who are keen to tag along to do IR on er, a temple (Kong Meng San), PM me if you don't have my number. =)

I tried the in camera soft focus and find that it is equal or even better than physical soft filters. Somehow the effect is different, the image is still sharp and there is a glow to it. What do you guys think?

sbc, you're right about the effect of the soft focus. Definitely a time saver and the results are as good as adding a physical filter. Nice!

creampuff, thks! I guess I will throwing away many filters. I used to buy diff brand of soft focus filters to get the best effect. The best one out there is the Nikon soft. But it is very very expensive and so in the end I settle for 2nd best, which is the B&W soft-1.
