Full Frame DSLR

To TS: They are just trying to tell you that having an expensive oven will not get you better cake. The deciding factor would be what you are going to bake i.e. the pastry. Of course having a better oven will give you a better cake but the diff. is not much.

If you can start off with 5D2 then go ahead but even the 1000D (lowest-range) can get you off to a good start.

Once again with reference to oven as analogy, an L lens is like a big oven, it will still work even if you were to bake a 500g cake but it is considered not 'fully' utilized as it can probably bake a 2kg cake.

This kind of thread is so common in ClubSNAP!

Thumbs up for me please.

TS, just buy what you please. It is your money and you should be able to buy whatever you please without caring about what others said. And further more, it helps the economy.

But do try to read and learn more, so your new purchase does not become another fungus ridden white elephant.

Have fun buying, and good luck.

If money is not a problem for TS why not advice him what is the best configuration there is right now? 1Ds MK3 with EF800mm F5.6 IS USM or maybe 600mm. Then he can learn from there, can even take clear pics of the moon maybe rabbits on the moon... hehehe.

haha.. to some .. 9k$ is reasonable.. to others its definetely not... but if u dont understand why u need full frame, or even used b4 a full frame camera.. i suggest u buy a cropped sensor with a better lens.. and start from there.. for myself.. i went full frame after my first camera is because i didnt like the high iso at night or low light shots(to look so grainy) thats why i went for it, to give me more versatility in taking shots.. sometimes having a wide aperture is not an option as the depth of field is different..

so ya.. but of course its your $, and i definetely support people buying full frame if they can afford it. and be sure to make use of it hehe.

I tink TS dao-ed this thread

Some people said L lenses got special stuff that only FF can function it.

Dun really what "some people" told you, but below is a shot using an L lens with a 450D (crop)

If I'm a person that like to take nice n best photo n moving object stuff like F1. Which cam suit me best?

7D, 5D Mrk II?

I'm not into photo editing so what I usually do is snap n choose e best n nicest to keep.

From what i've gathered about your requirements - fast moving subjects, want a recent model, budget not an issue - i recommend the 1Dmk4. Not full-frame but i think it's the best fit within the current Canon line.

As an aside i also echo the sentiments of the many posters here who recommend you spend some time familiarizing yourselves with the more technical aspects of photography and cameras, and even basic photo editing. Nothing wrong with "snap and choose the best" but i think you will get more satisfaction from the hobby if you learn some simple processing.

This is Nv confirm n do not knw Wen it will b launch.

dude u are not ready for any upgrade yet.

what is it that u are lacking now?

if u just want to use L lens, go ahead and buy one for your existing cam body (but there is a crop factor 1.6 x focal length of lens).

else i dunno what to say, but if u want to be the typical kiasu singaporean and got $$$ to splash, just go buy a 1Ds series cam, confirm will last u a long time. That's the top of the range already.

u may find that everyone is bashing u. but seriously look at your own reply, most of what u want are heard from others it is not really what u need.

u need to know what u like to shoot (portraits, landscape, macros etc) and your own shooting style (prime lens or zoom lens).

example:
else once u buy a FF but found that u like macro, then u are in for it, cos a crop cam is more suitable for shooting macro due to the crop factor advantage. and u cannot use EFS lens anymore.

or u find yourself like landscape/portrait but getting a crop camera (7D), it cannot satisfy the wideness u want or shallow of depth/high ISO is not up to your liking.

so at least know what u need to buy based on your needs (not want) and not some hearsay. its your MONEY, not your friend's or salesman.

The better the equipment, the better I feel I am able to learn... ???? I've a very good feeling that you'll shoot some wonderful picture with a S95 or G10 compared to ur knowledge of DSLR functions. "Composition" is only but a term but it takes a lifetime to improve and refine. No one learns and master photography at one go with a "perfect set" of equipment. Duh.

look dude. i've been reading all the replies that all the seniors have been giving here. you still do not know how to handle your 350D, yet you want to step up to the plate and take on Full Frame?

do you even understand what that means?

let me give you an analogy. when i studied karate, my senior made us do the basics over and over and over. we complained. we whined.

we wanted to learn the hard-core black belt stuff. to put it simply, we thought that learning the higher standard stuff would make us even better.

but after we all advanced, we realized the importance of the basics. without the basics, no matter how many advanced moves we learnt, we can never do them well.

stick to your 350D, master the basics, learn what a FF can do before you commit.

yes it's your money, but do you want to throw it into something which you might not even make full use of?

You claim:
1) Money is not a problem. - Spend some on BASIC camera handling course first.
2) Can handle an EVO 6 after you got your licence - So smart than you should be able to learn all (from pt 1) in no time.
3) Kindly refrain from using short form in your questions if you want people to read what you really want, this is not hp smsing.

I moved from a 1000D to a 5D mkII and i am just a hobbyist.

New 5D mkIII should be end of 2011 i feel. :dunno::dunno:

The current model is 3100++ now. I doubt the new model will be that cheap. I suspect the mk III will easily cost from 4k - 4500SGD when first launch body alone

Anyone able to me on which is the reasonable Full Frame Cam u would go for??? Looking into 5D but it e high end model which I'm not that pro to handler it and it out in market for a long period. Any inside news of new Full Frame cam launching???

Anyone out there got inside news???

HELP HELP!!!

7D approx 820 grams, add battery grip BG-7 350 grams = 1170 grams.

5D mark II 810 grams, plus BG-E6 315 grams = 1125 grams.

1D mark IV = 1180 grams.

L lens:
24-105 f/4L IS 670 g
24-70 f/2.8L approx 900 g
70-200 f/4 approx 800 g
70-200 f/2.8 IS approx 1470 g

So now tell me if it's still light or heavy?

1) This point i understand myself.

2) I Never say I'm able to handle Evo 6 after getting my license. It took me 6 months. Please read CAREFULLY.

3) If you do not like people using short form. Then don't reply. Also for your information, you are using lots of short forms too. (pt - point) (hp - handphone)

Just don't understand why you bother to reply if your intention is not to help as you feel fustrated when reading.

I feel your grammar Not up to standard too so do it better to make others understand you better. Thanks....
