Full Frame DSLR

Been using it for 5 yrs n it about time to change as it been long already and also it has many hair line already.

So that e reason I wanna get a new n good of all to learn.

If you're upgrading just because of the cosmetics. I think you should just stick with the 350D.

you should learn the basics before upgrading. Unless of course you have the spending ability then i cannot say anything. :bsmilie:

Droplets on photos? hairline is getting worse?

Is your equipment is infected by fungus?

Most likely

I guess everyone start off with a good cam n learn to fully function it afterthen.

I'm just trying to gain more knowledge n don wish to buy another cam again if I bought a cam which I can't get what I wan.

Guess your reply seem fustrated on my Q.

FYI, I'm here like everyone as a newbie to learn n become a Pro. Not here to get lecture in order to learn.

No one are born to walk PLS!!!

Im sorry if my words were harsh. This was not meant as a lecture but yes, indeed i am a bit frustrated. Not at your questions but rather the mentality behind it.

If you were to look around nowadays, you will find alot of people willingly to spend those kind of money. They have spanking new DSLRs and lenses hanging around their neck like it were a fashion accessory but totally oblivious to its basic functions, shooting blindly. They scratch their head with a puzzled look on their face and mumbling to themselves: "That's not the way I wanted the picture to turn out..."

So what I am just simply telling you that if you don't even know the basics, getting a FF with the best L lenses is really quite pointless.
Let's put it this way;
If you can barely handle a KIA piccanto, would you consider a BMW 5 series?

And just so if you're wondering, my first digital SLR was a 300D. I've been using and am still using it for about 8 years. So yes, it's been 8 years of learning, shooting, and more learning before I even considered buying a 2nd hand 5DMK2 1 year ago.

8 years is a small number. Ask the "old birds" and they are likely to tell you they've been shooting for 8 years in film before there was digital.

Not saying this as a Mod.... but as any ClubSNAP-er

You've been using EOS 350D for 5 years and you have yet to know/understand things like Crop / fps / L or non L lens ..... what have you been doing all those 5 years ??

Suggest you go for a 2nd Hand xxD camera.... without basic knowledge, getting 7D won't help you much. And if your camera has fungus and is getting worst.... doesn't this show that you have much to learn... from knowing your camera... taking care of your camera... using your camera....

Friend... get a 2nd hand camera and join the many groups going for photo outing here.... learn from each other ;)

But of course if $$$$ isn't a problem for you... please ignore all I've said.

My 2cents worth....

Both 7d And 5dmk2 are great cams u can start with. Go for 5d if u want awesome bokeh. If not 7d is more value for money because of the lower price and better tech.

In a dry box? then do you monitor the %RH and change the silica gel regularly?

I agreed to ur comments on people hanging X cam on neck going ard but knw nuts about the cam their having. But it all up to them if they wanna pick up e skill set n become a pro in days or mths or even don learn anything.

It Juz like driver who r able to control high bhp cars anot. I started driving a Evo 6 when I got my licenses. And able to control n understand my car in 6 mths.

I beileve that everyone can do it, it Juz if u r willing to learn anot.

For me, I prefer 1 time spend than to upgrade n upgrade.

8 yrs on 300D. That long! I been keepin my 350D in dry box and notices there problem when I'm reali going into camera. That y I intend to do a good BIG time change. I reali Nv knw that a Japan made cam can last so LoNG!

TS said dry box... not dry cabinet...

yeah, if is in a dry box then you need to monitor the hydrometer and change the silica regularly right? else if its used up and not changed then the %RH inside would be the same as outside.

You are right.... but TS hardly know anything regarding his camera or how to take care... you think he/she knows silica or %RH...

Hi abu2600,

my wife bought a high end mutil purposes microwave oven which cost me about 1k.

Mutil purposes mean can bake cake, cook porridge, steam fish etc etc ........

In the end........... only heat up food.

Just my 2 cents

My 350D v old n there lots of hair lines due to improper care.

None of my friends into cam. I heard L lenses can use on none FF cam but some stuff don work due to only FF can do it. What that I don knw too.

LOL!! There isn't anything!
Got no diff, except from the crop thingy anson was explaining abt

TS, not trying to be rude. Is there possibility that u would buy a new cam and neglect it again?

If a 5D mark II is being put aside and fungus grows on it......

Hi TS,

y drive evo 6 when you know there is going to be evo 7, 8 9 10, or 11 coming? same logic with your cam purchase. If money not an issue, just buy the best you budget allows, as many L lens as you want and learn from there yah. There will always be newer cam and lens.

bros here are just advising you to be prudent as photography is not just about equipment. A well skilled photog can shoot much better picture using a 350D than an ignorant photog with 5D and L lens.

You have much to learn so hope you dun spend another 5 years with your new cam not learning anything.

To TS: They are just trying to tell you that having an expensive oven will not get you better cake. The deciding factor would be what you are going to bake i.e. the pastry. Of course having a better oven will give you a better cake but the diff. is not much.

If you can start off with 5D2 then go ahead but even the 1000D (lowest-range) can get you off to a good start.

Once again with reference to oven as analogy, an L lens is like a big oven, it will still work even if you were to bake a 500g cake but it is considered not 'fully' utilized as it can probably bake a 2kg cake.

This kind of thread is so common in ClubSNAP!

Thumbs up for me please.
