Xmas is Coming, time to get some new fresh news from offical website, at least something than nothing till Next Year.

http://www.pentax.com/en/pentaxff/

a New image.

bg_01.jpg

Traditionally Pentax/Ricoh make their announcement a week or so before CP+
Few more days to Feb. Let's hope new announcement by first week of Feb!
I hope is 36mp Sony sensor, not 42mp. Not so strain on my dated computer because I mainly shoot raw..
And I really wonder the purpose of the third knob beside top screen.
Exciting!!

1. For those who prefer EVF ... (a bit lame... )
A bit late, I actually prefer EVF these days, after using the X-T1 for some time now. I didn't feel so with the X-E1, but you can see the output of your settings, no matter how late or dark it gets. :)

A D810 level of camera with added SR, Pentax interface, Pixel shift, GPS and Astrotracer.
Looks like its a LOT of camera. :D

That rear screen shot shows off 5ev of exposure compensation straight-off.
Its really one of those nice little things that don't catch headlines, but shows the small attention to detail Pentax has when making a camera catered for photographers.
Nice!

Now only for the price.

From my short discussion with the Distro in my country before CNY, looks like they they will priced it very closed to the D810.

The closed to 1kg (with battery and without grip) weight is a bit on the heavy side!

4.4 fps full frame, 6.5 fps APSC, and only 17 raw,

70 jpg is fine, means at 6.5 fps APSC, you still got more than 10 sec's action.

0.7x viewfinder, while same as D4s, but however, Pentax ME super has a huge 0.95x viewfinder; for that weight, I think maybe they can try better for viewfinder.

for that 4k internal , I guess it is same time lapse feature as in 645z for the name of 4k

also, the usb on K3 is usb3 right

----------------

overall, K-1 is better than other entry full frame in term of overall buffer, in between of D800 and D810,

frame rate is average for its class, either 4.4 or 6.5 fps.

so K-3 II / K-3 still the speed machine for pentax, in term of both speed and buffer

Haha ... still thinking cause DSLR is so far too bulky to my style of travel. :)

There is another important announce is the new HD DFA 15-30/2.8 lens for landscape shooters (which look like developed from the Tamron 15-30/2.8 SP). Price, specs are all attractive. The only limitation is the built-in non-removable hood which make using filter is very trouble some.
