for myself, the price will be a important factor to decide whether to get it anot..given the price of 2nd hand pentax lenses now, i will lose a fair bit if i sell off my FA limited lens..if the price of the ff is not too high..i may buy it to use my FA limited..
i realise that with my current APSC pentax setup..i dun really have a need for the FA limited..so whatever is it..i will still keep my pentax APSC system

At least got time to start saving for the FF. I only hope it is either same weight as the K3 if not lighter.
Just think of it as being a K3 with a 36mp sensor and a tilting lcd .....and costing $3299.

I think it would be 42mp sensor from lastest sony,
as if it is 36mp, it should be ready to announce now, maybe after Pentax saw A7Rii, they decide to use that sensor, which delay exact 6 month from now, (Sony only allow sensor to be sold to others after its 6 month advance use.)
maybe, there are 2 version, 24mp and 42mp, Pentax is still deciding which to use, I guess, or it should not drag that long.

I really don't think they'll use the latest when it comes to sensor.
50MP sensor in 645Z, same latest sensor used at same time like leica medium format and hasselblad medium format camera.

hahaha... since everyone has waited for so long, i frankly dont see how a few more months makes any difference.
it will not be super cheap - that much is obvious. even while it may be value for money for its functions and weather sealing, be prepared to pay FF prices.
those looking for a bargain are not looking at the launch date anyway - have to camp at the buy/sell forum o wait for someone to offload :bsmilie:

Yes, certainly agree that it won't be cheap.
I'd suggest anyone who is interested to save up for it.
There are various rumors that more info will be released on Oct6 (a Jap friend told me Oct16), so hope that happens whichever the date.
The FF sure seems to be small.
Or rather K3 sized.
The method to scale the camera is sound since the K mount will be the same size.

EVF might've kelped the k-01, but i really dunno why i would use it when i have an OVF.

My guess would be for the usage of non-FF lenses, aka DA lenses, lor... If not how to adjust for the cropped view in OVF?
Can use Live View of coz but you know them japs..
Looks like they'll be creating a Pentax Gundam! LoL!

The detachable EVF would be a nice thing to have. Coming in so late into the game, if they introduce "just another FF DSLR", they will be able to sell some to hardcore Pentax fans and nobody else. The key is apart from stellar image and speed performance, how they will have ALL the features of the existing FF camera plus new useful features.as well to differentiate from the crowd. Having several colour options would help too or interchangeable hand grip for smaller or bigger hands, etc. 
Dunno...beats me.
Some possibilities :
1. For those who prefer EVF ... (a bit lame... )
2. For easier/better use of manual lenses.
3. For video (there is another rumor on getdpi where they say his source says there is a collaboration with RED )
4. For non-retrofocus lens that is LV/mirror-up only (think CV15 sized lens for a DSLR )
But really, could just be a rumor or a flash..

(3) is the only sensible and defensible reason imo... (1) and (4) is satisfying a very small silent minority - doesnt make cents. (2) makes even less sense - they'll lose money if everyone's digging up vintage M42 and K lenses to use. they gotta encourage pple to buy new lenses.
yeah, we really won't know until we see it for real... personally indifferent. i only care abt the sensor and mount actually.
