Yes I was! But after travelling more often past few years I feel DSLR abit sien to lug around. Beside I always had a prime stuck on on it. So X100s fits the bill nicely!
If I were to go back to using DSLR systems, will still stick with Pentax!
Hey I didn't realize that but similar case here. The x100s serves me perfectly when I just wan a good carry around for everyday but when the need comes for formal shoots etc , the Oly EM1 comes in.
I see that as we know what we want / need and that's not easy seeing so many people around who aren't even clear what gear they need.

Hi Bro keithwee. I sent someone who is going to be HK next week on a mission to the shop to see if she can pick up a good deal on a X100S for me also. Keeping my fingers crossed. Will update if it comes to being. Thanks for the lobang.
hi bro, Bryan just came back from the HK shop and he had an even better deal than me cause he was there to bargain personally. I got mine for HKD7300.
Anyway, I think we all gotta lie low a bit. Locally i think its still SG$14xx with some shops selling SG$15xx.
Last time i nearly ran into trouble with a brand for helping bros bring in stuff from HKG as HKG prices are around 20%-30% lower than SG. I made $0 profit & just got a few kopis as thank yous but still the brand wasn't most happy haha.

Keith - sorry to hear that you almost got into trouble. The brand should be ashamed that they are charging such a premium!
I strongly believe if they reduced their profit margin per product, their overall profits would increase. I for one would def pay a reasonable price for a new product with local warranty.

But to be fair the brand is now much much better is its outreach efforts and definitely pricing as compared to maybe 2 years ago. I have bought all my recent purchases from them locally recently cause they have improved.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Maybe the brand(s) had a problem with what may be constituted parallel import? Just glad that things have somewhat improved for the better. Prices generally are not as drastically different from overseas prices as they were in the past.

Sorry to hear you got grief for helping fellow forummers out. I will update how it goes with my friend helping me get a sweet deal. If I am getting the XE-2 I will actually get it locally cos Fuji is giving the 50-230mm zoom lens on top of all the freebies like extra battery, cleaning kit, battery grip and so on. Quite a good deal. I don't think the deal for X100S is so sweet though. Thanks again.

I believe it's the local distributor that is unhappy that people are buying overseas. They should very well accept the fact that consumers are more well traveled, savvy and price conscious nowadays. It's here to stay.
how is the image quality from 50-230mm ? quite a useful lens for shooting stage shows and zoo animals

yes, soon the product warranty will be changed to each designated country.
Hope that will never happen for Fuji , one of the reasons why I respect Olympus, Fuji & Pentax is that they have the common sense to provide international warranty backed up by good after sales service such as significant firmware updates even when they could simply sell u another newer model instead like some brands.
With people traveling so much nowadays, to restrict warranty to country of purchase for the exact same product only speaks of ignorance.

Authentic set, not gray. Registered the warranty successfully , another CS-er also bought the same and also registered warranty too.
If it's gray I think I would've been able to get one for HK6300.
