This camera is interesting that's for sure.

But, let's hope the AF speed and accuracy is there for the price it commands.

I'd venture to guess that prices for X100 will go down .. especially resale ones.

With the announcement from Fuji on X-Pro 1, I hope that give the m43 folks, especially Oly, a big kick and hurry up with their development and announcement of PEN pro ...

Camera investment will be quite heavy. but if you consider it has no AA filter (I am a big fan no AA fitler), and Fuji color, EXR sensor, and the soooooo retro body.
Fujinon lens are affordable, USD499 each (around SGD650) Quite a good deal if we are comparing m4/3 primes ie 12mm f2 at SGD1K, 25mm f1.4 at SGD800.

However the range of the lense (18mm, 35mm, 60mm) not in my favor. Would be only getting when 14mm is launched, that will be in 2013.

I am extremely excited about the offering although I would reserve my comments until I see output from this new sensor. Actually Fuji is risking a lot by using a new sensor technology when this system will make or break the market's perception. If they stuck to the same sensor used on the X100, then it is a safer game and almost a sure winner.

The other area of importance is the AF quality. If they manage to achieve a similar performance seen on the NEX, then Fuji truly has a winner. To me, this is the only point that the X100 lacks in. Perhaps the newer processor can process contrast detect faster.

A lesser minor consideration is how loud the shutter is. Not sure how will that play out using a focal plane shutter vs a leaf shutter.

A little disappointing but altogether expected are the lenses operating with focus-by-wire.

Agree the lens is "affordable" relative to say more expensive m43 primes, not to mention this is all metal and has aperture ring in front, unlike all but the Oly 12f2, and very affordable compared to new Carl Zeiss 24/1.8 nex lens, but the body is not so.
Saw preorder at amazon for body it's USD1700, maybe/hopefully will drop after the preorder wave? Don't think nex-7 body will be as expensive. However, if it does deliver to Singapore by late Feb, which is ard expected time of Nex-7, that would be very interesting...
Hope this all not an overhype, it does seem very promising for Fuji. This certainly excites me in specs more than X100. Awaiting to see more sample pictures...

The slope where the dials are makes the camera looks weird. I still prefer the looks of X100. In terms of IQ performance, will need to wait and see since the sensor isn't customised for a single focal length unlike X100.

if they make an adapter that can fit Nikon Lenses, I would seriously consider getting one as a backup to my nikon. As I already have quite alot of lenses, hard to switch

ofcourse the lenses might not look good on a retro body like that, but ei if it is compatible, that would be a great bonus.

It will be good for those who need a back-up/travel camera using only native AF lenses and possibly a good companion to Leica/M9/RF users as there will be an M lens adapter. Judging from the mount and lens specification, lenses seem more symmetrical than retrofocal, thus may not be good for most SLR legacy lenses. Since I am not a Leica/RF user, I will buy this camera for its own merits, if it can live up to its IQ hype. Thus far, from the few jpec photos I have seen, I am impressed. The question now, considering the price of ownership of body plus 3 lenses, will this system be better than my current system? Time will tell.
