Fujifilm X-E2

Just came across the XE2 preview article in MingThein's blog. I always enjoying reading his articles and he takes excellent photos too! http://blog.mingthein.com/2013/10/18/review-the-2013-fujifilm-x-e2/ Cheers!

The specs are more or less what the rumors has been taking about.

Aside from what he comment about the focusing speed, I can see nice photos taken by Ming thien but hard to tell the difference from photo taken with x-e1. Have to wait for him to comment on the iq coming from a m4/3 user point of view.

any news on the AF speed? it sounds like its going to be a huge improvement (claims of 'worlds fastest AF' etc) but from what i read, it's not that huge? it looks a pretty solid upgrade, but the only reason i'd see to upgrade from the X-E1 would be if the AF speeds are a lot faster. can't get any solid info on this yet

I guess have to wait for actual production to be released for professional or hobbyist who did not get the pre production set for their review. My guess is that the af speed may have been over stated. However they did specifically state that certain standard and guideline are used to test in order to claim the fastest af speed. What will determine me to get the camera also depend on the degree of improvement in af speed.

they use 14mm for the test of course fast, why not use the 60mm.

yeah. i just got the X-E1 barely two weeks ago, so not eager to upgrade so fast. lol. but i do find the X-E1 to be rather slow focusing, with the 18-55mm lens, and wish it could be faster. the X-E2 would be very tempting if its as fast as it claims, and not only in very specific circumstances, like with the 14mm or 23mm lens. if its an overall increase in speed, and rather significant at that, it would be worth considering

we shall have to see, but I'm not banking much on the af. lol

anyway I don't see a diff between images from the 2 cams.

I ordered mine. Attracted by the faster focussing, better EVF at night and face detection.

That's why everyone is looking for faster AF. The 18-55 is the fastest XF lens I own. Granted I don't have many lenses but the X system is certainly lagging behind dSLRs and the OMD in terms of AF.

Having so much fun with x100s. The X E2 is a good news since I can get XE1 at a good price to replace by heavy SLR and lens for travel purposes.

It just feel more fun without having to carry too much around.

You meant X-E1 ya? :D

yeah, i don't think the image quality will be much different, or different at ALL. only compelling reasons to upgrade would be the newer features; i really need to see if they're absolutely worth it or not. hahah

Agree. Within a year or so, I doubt Fuji would have made huge improvements in the image processing department. The X-E1 is more than capable for most needs -- think more worthwhile to acquire the excellent XF lenses; at least the value holds up a lot better. :)

The lenses are more enticing than the camera.

More youtube videos creeping up on youtube about XE2..
I watched a few of it and It seems the AF did not improve dramatically..

If I were still using XE1 then I will probably skip this..

Quite disappointing to hear that. Hope the actual production copy will have further improvement.

Not very interesting changes for me, I get to save money :-)

Nothing I've read so far about fixing the EVF lag in dim light, which is a long-in-the-tooth defect.

Lenses are indeed more enticing.
