For those who are looking for a good leather case or wanted another cool case, I have got one to sell in the bns section. Asahi brand japanese case. Just received the preordered case with matching strap. I had think twice, not once to let it go at a loss because I am using tripod in most of my shooting and the case dont comes in handy. Go check it out.

Hi X-E1 owners,

Just bought the X-E1 and i have one question. My old D90 have 11 focus points and when i half-press it will auto-focus to 2 or more focus area points depend on the subjects. How about in X-E1?

Thanks in advance.

Go to Menu > AF Mode > select Area
I would think center AF is the proper method in XE1 though

has anyone tried using the Samyang 14mm f2.8 manual lens with an adapter? thinking of getting this first while waiting for the Fuji XF10-24mm f4.0. the 18mm just ain't wide enough for landscape/architectural shots, and the Fuji 14mm (or even the Zeiss 14mm) would just be a waste later on for me if i were to get the 10-24mm.

the Samyang 14mm seems like attractive alternative, with brand new ones selling for around $400+ (without adapter). although designed for full frame, it is still suitable on our cropped sensor giving a very nice and wide 21mm at f28.

have not found any info so far on lens being used on either X-Pro1 or X-E1 with adapters.

the only samyang lens I have is the 8mm f/2.8 fisheye x-mount.

love it. lol I'm using the 14mm now for landscapes, so far so good. But I think the 10 - 24 will replace it once it hits stores.

Been using the XE1 for about 8 months now and great to carry around while I travel to capture scenery and some food shot with the 18-55 lens!

Anyone want to recommend any alternative lens I can try out for walkabout which is fast? 14mm? 50mm?

TIA!

I have the 14mm and it has replaced my 35mm as my walkaround lens. Try it and you'll love it more than your 18-55

Agree. 14mm will cover tat focal length u r not having. Although XF35 lens is astoundingly awesome, u can still live by wif d 18-55. Cheers.

I bought the 60mm in HK, but what they say is very true it is a very nice lens when focus locks. lol

hope the 23rd July firmware would have some improvements.

not with my copy. that person in your link probably got a lemon? i cant read chinese lol

to reproduce the defective shot,
focus ur object within 0.5 meter away,
use smaller aperture, the white patch more profound,
shot opposing light source.

it said mfg date before May2012 have this issue,
can check when is urs?

oic, thkx for helping to chk. :)

btw, review from ephotozine :
"...At normal focusing distances, flare is rarely an issue, even when shooting into the light. At these distances the supplied hood does an excellent job of shielding the front element of the lens. At close focusing distances, this lens has quite a severe issue with internal reflections, causing bright flare spots and reduced contrast in the centre of the image. This tends to occur in situations where the background is relatively bright, or if the light source is perpendicular to the lens. This issue get worse as the lens is stopped down, which may prove to be very frustrating for macro work where depth of field is at a premium...."

* apologise if it has been discussed before... :embrass:
