Hi to all
Normal 2G SD cards cost S$11+ check Best Bargain's prices. Of course, the camera vendors get it at a lower price. Parisilk is at Holland V and since I work around there, I figure it's worth going there considering time and transport to SLS/AMK/Suntec. BTW I was in a bit of a rush, getting ready to go to Beijing. Parisilk is quite professional, they claim to be able to match any price around, so go and drop names/prices! Check the phone book for their contact.
For reviews and sample shots of the S100FS, do check out dpreview.com. Lots of nice shots there. Personally, I own a Fuji s602z, and an F11 around my belt for quick shots.
As for my own opinion of the S100, I'm still mastering the camera, but here's my impressions: 1) I find the size and weight quite cumbersome. I could hold the s602z, zoom and shoot with one hand - it was that ergonomic. With the S100, you have to use both hands. I brought a small Gorillapod along, which fit the F11 quite well, but well flattened by the S100 :-(
As an aside, I saw quite a few people with DSLRs, men and women at the airports and Beijing - but I don't think they had a 28-400 lens (like the S100's) on them!
2) Battery use - after one week of use in Beijing, my F11's battery is still good, while at the same time I had to do the battery change (NSmen - remember the magazine change routine while on the move?) routine twice. Thank God I brought a compatible battery along (AP@SLS $28). The 2 bar warning on the S100 doesn't last that long. In all, there were about 500 shots for each camera. Very little flash used - that's the Fuji distinctive!
3) I found using the reticulating LCD quite useful. Like placing the camera on the floor and shooting upwards. That way, you bypass the fencing put around exhibits. I even did a shot of a lute player with the camera pointed 90 degrees from me - you know, like shooting around a corner. I think he noticed when I pointed the camera *straight* at him, but not at right angles. A bit blurry with IS on - maybe not so good with portrait mode? Most of my shots were in Auto or Program mode.
4) The CA/PF problem is not noticeable on a 15" monitor at 1024x768 resolution. Unfortunately, Beijing is still rather cloudy (dusty?) and I didn't get many great shots.
Overall, I'd say it lived up to my expectations, except for the weight and size.

I received a PM from another kind forum member telling me that Fujifilm will not be represented at the PC Show.. Just FYI. So time to look elsewhere for bargains!!! Hope price at bargaincity will drop slightly soon...
Seems that you maybe right as another thread at Kopitiam stated the floor plan for the PC Show & Fujifilm was not found

Most likely like the IT Fair in March where Fujifilm is under Audio House,
it's going to be under some other company like courts or best denki
But seems that most of them won't give you good deals like AP, John or bargaincity;p

It was mentioned in one of my earlier posts.
"So all in all their offer will include 2 X 2GB SD + 1 4GB SDHC.. one of the 2GB SD will have to be collected from Fuji though" + other free gifts during the Fujifilm GSS promotion + those stated on their website
Ultimately it all depends on whether you need the free gifts or not..

Hi, i've posted a thread over at the IR side of CS but i was hoping i could get some answer here too...
Does anyone know whether s100fs is able to do IR? i can't do any remote control test cause it seems the bulb of my remote controls at my house is spoiled.

Went down personally today. Really a large variety of cameras for testing.. Tested Canon and Panasonic. In fact its better to go down knowing what you want. Those promoters over there can't really give you attention if you wanna know more about the product.. too many people. Moreover, they may not even know the product well.
