I got a reply from them. These are the questions I asked:
1) What’s the brand of the SDHC card?
2) The compatible battery is 3rd party battery?
3) What’s the brand of the large tripod and any pictures of it?

Reply I got:
1. For the 4 Gb SDHC, you have a choice of a Sandisk, Lexar or Toshiba 4 Gb SDHC with product lifetime warranty.
2. The compatible battery is of similar capacity to the Fuji NP140 with 1 year warranty. We usually offer either the Digital or Mega brand of Compatible batteries.
3. Large tripod in the package is the 1.6 metres Digipod SL1600 (larger than the SL1400), with quick release function, level gauge, 360 degree adjustments, 4 sections, carrying case and 1 year warranty.

Hope this helps. ;) Not much info about Digipod tripods on the net.. Anyone with pictures of it?

checked with the shops at funan today. all quoted at $840-850 with 2 gb and softcase. only thing was that stock will only come in on thurs or friday.

the bargaincity offer seems ok to me. just dont really fancy the tripod. how much is the market price for 4gb sdhc now?

I see that some of the shots either wrong exposure.. or wrong WB... abit disappointing.... i believe fujifilm can do better. maybe it is a limitation of the sensor

Have you tried with different white balance and exposure settings? The WB seems off in these pics. It'd be interesting to see what the S100 is really capable of.

On top of the 2GB SDHC which they quoted you, there should be one more which is from the promo during the GSS?

Sorry no idea.. Will send them another email later.

BTW they did revert back. So all in all their offer will include 2 X 2GB SD + 1 4GB SDHC.. one of the 2GB SD will have to be collected from Fuji though. Quite a good deal IMO if you need the freebies. Still thinking whether to wait for IT Fair in one week's time..

I'm also waiting for the PC show
Heard that most of the time they will further reduce the price at the last day of the show on 15 June 2008 which quite coincidence is Father's Day:angel:
Most likely will make a decision that day to buy @ PC Show or Funan or bargaincity to celebrate for myself(Got one daughter liao:bsmilie:)

Wah classic... In fact you may want to consider DSLR instead since you have some knowledge of photography and know the limits of a prosumer.. For my case I'm still learning..

does this cam supports extended zoom i.e able to extend its optical zoom range by selection a smaller image size

The price for this S100FS is about the same as an entry level DSLR but need to consider lens maintainence, dry storage & accessories, etc...
Feel the urge to go into DSLR also but budget tight right now
Got no money & time as need to take care of little girl & monthly expenses for little girl is about 1K right now;p

For those that had more money to spare & into serious photography can consider entry level DSLR like Canon EOS 400D, Nikon D40, Sony A200 or Olympus E410 SLR which cost a little bit more than S100FS.

extended dynamic range yes but extended zoom don't think so;)
can't find any information even on the user guide

Hope the user guide would be useful for you to find the information needed:)

S100FS using external flash on the hot shoe.

Just dig out my old Nikon SB15 flash.
Still flashing.
When I mount it on my S100FS, It does not seem to be able to trigger the flash.

I have set the S100Fs to external flash
( a flash icon the the display, no the lighting icon )

I can trigger the flash by shorting the center pin of the flash with the shoe grip.

only cannot trigger through the cam.

any help?

Got mine at Parisilk S$833 (w/GST) w.o. 2GB SD card - can get from Fuji, though. Meaning you lose 2GB, here.

Currently 2Gb SD Card cost around $20+ depending on the brand.
So IMO John & AP still more worth it(selling @$840) :)
How is Parisilk? Where is it & service good or not:)
