Just got my S100FS yesterday.
Tried a few shots in raw mode.
Very happy with the 8 pictures that I took.

By the way, any of you guys bought the extended 2 years warranty for a S$100.00 ( 1+2 )

Looks like a good deal.

first fold upward is full 90 deg.
second fold downward is about 45 deg

Yeap, its better to extend, dun worry its worth it. i extended my S5600 for 2 years @$75. now it needs a focusing motor/shutter service, dust removal and a internal clock battery change and general service. will send it for service once i get my S100FS, so i can hand in the S100FS warranty card + pay for the extended warranty at the service center.

My understanding is you need to purchase the extended warranty when you register for the 1st year warranty.

nice to know more and more s100fs users out there...sensor might be smaller than dslr, but i am satisfied with its high iso capability..very useable indeed..
plus the ois is fantastic, coz i never knew i could shoot as low as 1/8s handhelds..or maybe i just got a pair of tripod like hands..i always get a blurry photos with s5is at 1/20

anyone can advise if i will experience vignetting if i stepdown from 67mm -62mm on this cam? got some existing 62mm filter which i would like to recycle on this new cam when i get it

also i've read it from the HK forums the second batch onwards for this model will be made in China and nolonger from Japan can anyone confirm this

just bought mine yesterday from alan photo at $840 ($785+gst) and mine is made in china..

One thing from me, got this cam about last month @ IT Show. 2 weeks ago brought it to UK and then to Bangkok.

I think it survived the -1 C in UK there. Though there were times when it was so cold that I feel the pain in my fingers just touching the metal parts of the cam.

One thing this cam allowed me to do is really take the pictures i "see". Guess the notion of changing lens around dont work for me really go well for me as im on the move often.

Nuff said, this cam is a wonderful photo-taker >>>

Is the camera that you brought come with this flower lens hood?
Cos if you look at Dpreview & on lot's of the camera brochure, it's equiped with the hood,
but if you look at all the shops the hooks is missing;p

Bought mine @ IT show in Feb, and the full set comes with the hood u c @ dpreview, pretty coolz. You may ask the seller abt it.

btw, is your cam make in china or japan?
Cos i heard that mostly the first few batches are make in japan,
Later batches are make in china & thus more cheaper (like the one brought by jdee posted above)

lets hope that fuji will fix the ca via firmware upgrade
but for now, we'll have to to do with pp..if you have lightroom, this can be fix easily
