i just wanna check.... does anyone use "chrome" mode? it seems to me that its the same as normal mode unlike B&W mode... atleast u can see a diff. wad is tt actually used for? and how do i get the "almost" b&w shot with a single coloured item shot?

The "chrome" mode is like "vivid" colours for other cameras.

The "almost B&W" you mentioned isn't available in the camera. You will have to PP to make it that way if you want.

hi,like to ask advice from u guys....I gg shoot songs of the sea(in sentosa) this week. tot of setting up tripod and using long exposure( 4s shutter + F8 aperture + self timer n w/o flash) for the shoot. Its my 1st time for this light performance and I dunno if the picture lighting performance changes at a fast or slow rate. Worried if its fast changing rate, my cam will capture a pic full of messy lightings instead of the intended picture. Any advice? :(

Wah lau eh! You disappear until where? Next time we go shooting, I have to shoot u already then I won't forget how u look like. :bsmilie:

Ok, normally for non-portrait shots then dun use chrome. Other than that, chrome will yield better colours. At least this was what I read.

I think you should hit it with a fast shutter than a 4 second exposure. The lights move around one you know? If the exposure long then all you will get is a colourful frame with dunno what in it.

No, the other way around. I remember I read that scenery (not people) then use chrome. But really does it matter much? PP, my friend ;)

So when coming out for a hoot? Tell u first hor, I dun go creepy places.

lucky I ask.. any settings u can suggest? Wonder if F2.5 and 1/60s with flash will do the trick?

Thanks, bro onb, I was running some random shots with S8000fd. Actually overall this is quite an ok cam.
Yes, you are right for the last shot, the foreground is underexposed. Not sure how to overcome this with this cam, but one of the crude method is to use shorter exposure e.g., in AP mode, bring the exposure to shorter.
