Might be better to set Dynamic Range Priority to Auto via the F-mode Button. Based on the portion of the picture with almost identical overexposure (degree of harshness), the camera will decide the needed DR setting to return an acceptable dynamic range for a good image quality.

You'll lost 1/3 stop when manually fixing the DR.

Sorry, some noob questions. Does this means that DR200 should be the general setting to adopt? Or does it still depend on indoor, outdoor, low light or harsh light? I read in somewhere DR800 in DR mode is best for harsh light, is tt true?

It seems increasingly hard to find a good buy for this impressive little camera if Fujifilm is not producing too many now or has stopped. Perhaps, its legacy will stay a while for its impressive dynamic range and good IQ among the PNS just like F31.

I am excited now with Samsung EX1. Just asking for only 399GBP before entering the market. Eventually will probably get closer to 200GBP just like the F200EXR.

Its flexible-axis LCD and honest F1.8 Schneider lens (beware, there are dishonest lens out there) may wake up the big brands from profiteering with gimmicks in PNS and keeping their best only to their DSLR for too long. Now the korean Smart Dynamic Range let "you vividly express both bright areas and dark areas of your subject in the same frame. So bright spots aren't oversaturated and dark spots aren't too dark. Together with Samsung's super-fast DRIMe III imaging processor, the EX1 helps you capture high-quality images in a variety of settings and extreme lighting conditions."

The high resolution from its 1/1.7 ccd is assumed and nothing to boost about unlike some others.

I found one customised to F100FD which is also the size of F200EXR at eBay for only $12 (GBP6) including shipping. I now carries my F200EXR just like a cell phone.

i just managed to get this today ...at Harvery norman Fu nan ..but selling at $399 ..with 8 gb card + 1 more additonal 3rd party battery.

The Best at IMM also have. Same price. Did not check out the other details as I already own one;p But mine more precious..bought at $479! :sweat:

was frantically looking for one in sg. Most shops are out of stock coz fuji has stopped its production and i do not think tt u will be able to get it in IT show unless it is the successor but I think it will be pretty ex with minimal improvements compared to the F200; those pet detection thingy and the rest of those cosmetics stuffs as sensor technology has not advanced much. U may wanna try giving audio house a call. I got mine at $379 last month with 8gb sd card, extra batt, mini tripod, cleaning kit and case.
