normal users do not purchase a top of the line 1Ds-series camera too..I think the reviewer was talking about the normal picture that we as a user who would snap or buy this product, the picture that does not need any Photoshop and its easy as PnS...
As for the fraction of the price compare to other DSLR
the picture is good enough.![]()
I've some an issue here. The pics I've taken (both indoor and outdoor) seem washed out in colour, need some adjustment with photoshop. Tried using EXR, auto and P mode all have similar problems, EXR mode is better than the other 2. I see photos posted in this forum, some are without pp and turns out to be all right. I'm not sure if it's my monitor or photoshop or camera itself.
My F200EXR doesn't flash in EXR mode when in the dark automatically.
Anyone having this issue too?
pchmj, post your picture here? that could help identify the problem. it's more likely just a setting that needs to be changed.
dude. RTM. u set the EXR mode yourselfI don't understand how the EXR mode works. It always use the SN mode at ISO1600 at rather bright places. [/IMG]
I don't understand how the EXR mode works. It always use the SN mode at ISO1600 at rather bright places. Below is a pic straight from camera at this mode (resized), would appreciate some comments.
Just got my F200 EXR last week, played with it a bit and I am rather pleased... but the learning curve is pretty steep for newbie like me...
I dont use IS01600 outdoor with bright sun light, it always come out overexposed... I dont like EXR auto mode, its noisy and its not that accurate outdoor/sunlight.
I like the P mode setting, and so far have been alternating between P mode (for general+macro shots), and EXR SN (for low lights), EXR DR (for high contrast)....
I think i need more time to experiment with it....

that's why i bought F200EXR again after initially dumping it for F70EXR which was a big mistake
can u elaborate more? because i thought F70 is quite ok too if you dont pixel peep, and it performs similar to F200 EXR?
In theory F200 produces better IQ, but I have heard that F70's not far behind too....
The F70EXR and F200EXR serves different purposes. If you don't need the long range, the F200EXR would be more suitable. You can check out the sample image links I posted in this forum.
BTW, I came to confirm that inspite of the newer firmware, the camera still performs better in "P" mode (limited to ISO800) than in "EXR-SN" mode under low light.![]()
err... i tried not to pixel sweep, but F70EXR really has very bad purple fringing and CA in broad daylight and even under indoor lighting where contrast is high...
forget about F70EXR if u do not need the reach.. you won't regret, trust me....
