Fujifilm F200EXR is a GEM

I am undecided which color to get. Black or silver?:dunno:

the silver is not really silver but some light champagne colour....like a bit 'kiam chye'...I chose black after comparing the REAL thing at the shop. Thnk you shd do the same at the shop too!!:)

black is also not black either. Its a very dark brown instead. :)

I had the black one too (or very dark brown). The camera is actually quite decent looking, not the prettiest around, but the picture is head and shoulder above all other cameras in the same price range. Granted lesser manual control, and not as solidly build like the LX3 or G10, but you have to pay $300 more for the other 2 cameras.

im considering this with lx3..anyone can advise which too get? About ~$250 difference

It means most people only look at the aperture but forget the CCD size which is also very important. The shutter speed will be adjusted based on several factors. The LX3 uses a tiny CCD and tried to compensate by having a bigger aperture. A typical APS-C has a much bigger CCD, allowing it to catch more light with lesser noise.

actually, the LX3's sensor is not very much smaller than the F200EXR .. correct me if i'm wrong or implied wrongly here :

yes..they are in the same class. While they are "big" by PnS standards, they are still tiny as compared with APS-C CCDs. Fuji compensates using a better CCD design while LX3 make do with a bigger aperture. It would have been good had they kept the megapixel count to below 10MP but marketing demands dictate for higher 12-14MP which is what some of the DSLR with bigger CCD have! It makes no sense.:)

Is it true that the FinePix F200EXR Silver is make in Japan and the Black is make in China?

if travelling or on tour, better to buy higher capacity ones. read somewhere there are >3000mAh available but is there a limit on the max for the supplied charger?:p

anyone has the same problem as me? when i open the battery compartment and slightly tap the battery, it'll spring out.

Hi guys:

My f31fd is still a great shooter, I like to keep working for as long as possible but now it is bearing very high shutter count, methinks, which is why i should consider keeping this guy at home for indoor sans the sun and the rain. They don't make them like they used to.;)

So a worthy successor is in question. LX-3, F200 or the new contenders - Fuiifilm F70 EXR, Canon S90 or even the new Ricoh. Anyone has to make a similar decision?

u can forget about F70... its really bad.

Should not be. There is an orange catch on the left. You need to push the catch up before the battery will spring out. :)

i can assure you that its bad.. i sold it within 3 weeks of getting it.. made a loss of $20

really ah:think: a $20 lesson, let's hedge yr loss with the rest of us;)

crap. means mine is faulty.

not true.. after its F40fd series... all the finepix cameras sold in singapore the A/F/Z series all made in china...
