Here are my humble shots. Will be doing trying it out during my group outing with the Pasir Ris Elias CC Group and the Facebook SPIN group. All handheld except for the motion panaromic shot.

P mode with Auto ISO and AWB...very close to normal CCs. Was hit and run shot as I am rushing back to work after lunch.

hey guys, has Aperture / Lightroom been updated to handle the X100 RAW files?

Actually there is an A mode...it is called P mode...close enough. Just turn the aperture to A and Shutter to A and you will have a P mode camera (fully auto means ISO Auto too). But then again...buy this camera to set everything on Auto?

Sigh. I already explained this to another poster a few posts down. You still need to set ISO to auto even in P mode, plus other settings. My initial point was people who are used to PNS might not be able to take up the camera so easily, but then again if you had followed the thread......Maybe "speed" was not a term I should have used.

That I agreed...it is basically not for amateurs...so why keep repeating this point to people who obviously think it is overpriced (but compared to?) or it is not as good as a DSLR (but it is not trying to be one).

It does have 'Auto' but not in the sense that people understand from 'normal' point and shoots.

Thanks for explanation though.

Cheers mate

Some not so "useful" shots. In my opinion, the noise control is good and the lens can resolve really well.

Resized photo (not cropped) taken at f2

100% full crop (look at the ability of the lens to resolve the hair under backlighting)

100% full crop (There is no visible CA even fully wide open)

dejavu85, you don't have to really worry about CA at all. In fact prime lens are less prone to CA compared to zoom lenses. The lines are also straight when you see the photo. No visible barrel distortion.

So what ISO did you use?

As for Chromatic Aberration, that's why Fujifilm opted for the non zoom lens in the first place to get rid of CA. Speaking of zoom...did not miss it today while out shooting at MBS.

I did not really look at the ISO as it was set to auto. I just checked first photo was ISO 800, second was ISO640.

Just tried to use the RAW converter for mac, it is not as fast as light room. The below photo, I adjusted WB and push 1 stop. Shot at ISO 800, so effectively it is ISO1600 after +1 stop in the software. IMO, at close up, if does have a bit of the dreamy bokeh.

bad news for those awaiting the x100 from retailers

All Japanese ports have reportedly been closed. "It's a big mess. All discharge operations are suspended in the area," a Japanese ship broker told the Reuters news agency. Another broker said: "Most or all coal stocks will be washed out at many of the coal-fired power plants. Ports will be closed at least for a short time until damage assessments can take place."

Kinda means that it's not full auto in the traditional/common sense. I'm kinda bummed out, but I guess it's not realistic for them to include Auto ISO where the user can define the max ISO and min shutter speed (like how it is in some Nikons).

But that also means that users will have to take the time to compose and set up the correct exposure. That kinda makes it RF-like, but it does mean that I can probably pull the shot off more quickly with my D700... at the start....

the person who already preorder the x100 on Harvey Norman, would you try to ask for refund from Harvey Norman ??Izit possible ??

Didn't really have time to take any pics as I was busy at work the whole day. Still trying to familiarize myself with the X100.

I was having dinner at Fukuichi Japanese Dining at TripleOne Somerset just now and sat at the outdoor area where it was very dim. I thought it would be a good opportunity to test the low light performance of the X100.

The shots below were taken at high ISO 6400 and F2 at low shutter speed of 1/14 to 1/30s (shot in JPEG, no PP except some slight adjustment in levels):

X1001.jpg

ISO 6400, F2, 1/30s

X1002.jpg

ISO 6400, F2, 1/26s

X1003.jpg

ISO 6400, F2, 1/14s

X1004.jpg

ISO 6400, F2, 1/20s

Can be done in the menu settings under auto iso.

Wow! Those pic looks delicious! ;p

Time to peek at my dirty calculator >

WARNING Big file ahead!

Can be done in the menu settings under auto iso.

Interesting - I didn't find any Auto ISO in the pre-production unit I've been messing about with all week. Good to hear that they got Auto ISO in

Not bad! Quite clean, though it appears approx 1/3 stop underexposed. Were you at 0EV? What would it have been like if you shot at +1EV?

Yeah, pretty clean and useable at ISO 6400. They were shot at 0EV and macro mode. In fact, I adjusted the levels down slightly as I found it a tad too bright.

Did a macro test on X100

Distance 12cm to object
ISO 200
WB=Auto
EV=0
Tripod
Result:
F8, 1/30 -> sharp
F5.6, 1/60 -> sharp
F4.0, 1/125 -> sharp
F2.8, 1/250-> creamy
F2.0, 1/250 -> very creamy
I found that the AF wont be able to function probably, at the end i have to set to MF and click on the control dial to zoom into the object for manual focusing.
