Fuji X100

I see the reason. X-100 is designed to look more like a rangefinder than a DSLR and has an optical as well as an electronic viewfinder as in "2 in 1 idea". The VF also has a drop-down cover as I saw it in a website (forgot the name)

It was not designed as a DSLR mah ... it is an old school digital rangefinder style camera

This is not true. I suppose you are used to having the VF of an SLR, thus you are assuming VF needs to be at the center. The VF at the corner has always been the design for a rangefinder. If you are a right eye shooter, you can shoot with both eyes open. This allows you to be aware of your environment when you click the shutter for street photography. Infact this is an advantage which I find an SLR lacks which I have to squint with one eye.

+1. Henry may not be aware of this fact that the X100 was designed or inspired by the rangefinder-look. Shooting with both eyes open is really very very useful... You are looking and framing the scene at the same time.

do u think they will come back with full black version? =D

Heard from a friend in Japan ... a 'secret' ... there will be one in black after some months. ;)

fwah~ nice nice~ lets wait! hahahas =D
Good good.. with all those who want a black set opting out of the queue for the first release of the X100 in March, more sets would be available for those of us who prefer the metallic coloured ones. :)

REMINDER: IT show coming!:D

Don't rush into it. More brands will be coming out with compact EVIL cameras soon. What to do with your X100 with the fixed 35mm then? Two APSC cameras, one with fixed 35mm, the other allows you to use different lens to suit the situations, which will you use most of the time?

sorry .. becos is a fuji not other brands :bsmilie:

so are they making a flash too?

why people keep comparing X100 with dslr cameras?
and what wrong with the fixed lens?

X100 is not for everyone... get over it...

first, the reason why i have not bought any EVIL camera is because they lack that built in OVF.. and what's wrong with fixed lens? is that a limitation? why people keeps comparing this to interchangeable lens cameras? i have fixed RF, and it doesn't bother me.. last time, i only kept 1 lens, a prime for my DSLR, and used that all the time, with manual focus, did that become a limitation? no.. only those with limited creativity will find it as a limitation..

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
some people are just worried there will be a camera that a lot of people will love..

peace out!

When people rush to buy x100 then new EVIL models are out, hopefully the 2nd hand market will have lots of mint (hopefully) supplies for me to get them at a lower price. :D

Its not about comparing x100 with dslrs. X100 is not a dslr and but as a point and shoot it is not so pocketable. I have an old leica myself and I can appreciate a fixed lens camera. And I look forward to playing with the X100 but to buy it, the IQ has to be significantly better than anything similar out there. Just looking retro doesnt cut it.

What I am saying is that for the same size won't one prefer the flexibility of an interchangeable lens APSC camera? So unless you have the money to spare and happy to have a few spare cameras lying around, dont rush into it.

It does not matter whether we have one fixed lens or interchangeable lens. The latter has more fun but pay for the fun. It is the user who can find more fun for either lens.

why so many discussions on pros, cons, likes, dislikes, good, not good?
U like it, just buy it, you dun like it, dun buy it. I thought things are pretty simple.............:dunno:
