Fuji X100 - Part 2

Woah x100 outrun big cam like 5dmk2, this is amazing! In fact x100 is a gem!

But not in terms of image details. In fact i keep my x100 NR setting to low for max details too. The noise it produce is negliable to me.

I think u can leave as it is. I think using the LCD will drain more battery than the VF, thus no diff if your concern is about battery drainage. I might be wrong. Just a personal opinion.

i am amateur , only know how to shot with LCD :)

Such a waste when the hybrid viewfinder is such a cool thing to use no?

Since leaving DSLR to mirrorless 2 years ago, I have been fully on LCD. Bend down to take pic eye to eye level for my kids, hurt my back and knee. LCD is the best way for me. individual preference lah.

if i had the same money i think Xpro-1 is even better :X

x1pro alone can not take pic lah. u need lens. there is no such lens available now at 24mm and 600mm effective ranges.
every cam has its market.

X-pro 1 is only a bit sharper than x100 due to removal of LPF. But the price you pay is much more.

If you take same photo with the two cams, and downsize it to the usual size, i think you cant tell which photo is taken by xpro1

Share a few hi ISO shots, all at 5000, it was an indoor event and light was pretty bad.

I like the IQ of these photos.....the WB has been adjusted and not straight out of cam right? I'll get one if I have some extra $$$

Yup. used Canonet and Yashica before... well, i know its a diff think.. bt i can only go one either one of the camera.. haha.. so hard to choose.

Back to the topic, tried out my fre x100, the bokeh and image is pretty good, comparable to some DSLR images . Thumbs up :)

Get the X100. no horse run decision. The Prime lens is the way to go if you wanna enjoy street shooting....
Get close to the subject. Enjoy the "I scare scare go near take pic feel --- then the 'mah-tu-liao' and chiong YAH.... and run away" feel....
But normally, after taking the pic, i just walk away or just smile if they notice me.... hahahah....

WB is straight from cam, no adjustment, I shot these raw in velvia film simulation mode. :)

oh dear! more poisoning for cichlid :sweat::sweat: u naughty fellow :bsmilie:

Not as capable as a DSLR in terms of handling and AF for quick actions, but not impossible.

Do you recommend filters for this lovely camera?
What about the stick-on filter sold at orient or normal screw on filters?

filter not an absolute necessity, but I prefer to hv one on to protect the lens, choose a good one should u decide to use filter, I use b+w xs-pro nano, it's easy to clean, so far no complaint. :)

Filter not a 'must' but agree with bro motionstills. I had a Marumi (made in japan) DHG Lens Protect 49mm Filter (49bucks) + Len Hood (30 bucks) on to protect the lens.
from Alan Photo Trading. A little investment but better than a scratch or marks on the camera lens.
