Before firmware 1.2 I thought of the X100 as a pretty good camera with some AF issues and quirky controls. After 1.2 though, I now think it's a very good camera despite the quirky controls.

While it won't be as versatile as my DSLR, I can't really say my DSLR is as fun to shoot.

Never knew the firmware makes such a difference! Mine says 1.13 iirc.

Just crossing my fingers that my copy doesnt have the sticky.

Eh... Shooting 100% with LCD means zero use on OVF/EVF. Right? No?

if I were to 100% shot with LCD, what minimal settings I shall make on the OVF/EVF ? or i just totally bochap about the settings ?

Share a few hi ISO shots, all at 5000, it was an indoor event and light was pretty bad.

f/2.8, ISO 5000, 1/105s

f/2.8, ISO 5000, 1/100s

I did a simple test. Before the update I tried to focus on something in a semi dark room... it wouldn't after multiple tries. Upgraded firmware then tried again. It focused. Almost the same distance and composition. And it kept on confirming focus multiple times.

I would suggest you upgrade too. With 1.2 you can customize the RAW button. I have it now on ND filter.

Get best of both world digital and analog, buy both, x100 then M6

You do know that Leica M6 is film right.....? thats a totally diff ball-game already..... you dont get to see your results/shots until after the film developed......
its super-pro liao.....

If you just started with Film.... I would recommend getting a Canonet first.... play play with it.... get used to the Full Manual World.

But if you old-bird already.... of course highly recommend to go for it..... !!!! M6 / M7 both good......

Yup. used Canonet and Yashica before... well, i know its a diff think.. bt i can only go one either one of the camera.. haha.. so hard to choose.

Back to the topic, tried out my fre x100, the bokeh and image is pretty good, comparable to some DSLR images . Thumbs up

I think u can leave as it is. I think using the LCD will drain more battery than the VF, thus no diff if your concern is about battery drainage. I might be wrong. Just a personal opinion.
