Hi everyone ,

I'm new to Fujifilm and considering getting a X10 for use in concerts. Has anyone used it for this purpose ; kind enough to share the experience ?

Tried the camera once at a IT show and its not too bad , only worry for me is the batt life

will have to wait and see what this new poison will bring to the table..as of now, this little gem (X10) never fails to amaze me (except for the lousy battery life)!

i've 3 batteries, can last through whole 2-3hour concert, no problem. :bsmilie:

Hi! Thanks for the reply.
Though I know that in a concert, one will need to use diff settings to adapt to the conditions but will u be kind to share the settings u used for a concert ? Sorry for asking but as I'm getting a x10 tmr for a concert 5 days away I'm a bit worried I won't be able to figure the camera out by then.

Thank u

It depends on the lighting condition of the concert itself. Its very hard to advise.

I shoot with spot metering and Aperture priority and then there r times when i shoot in manual mode, opting for a full control.

X10 has fast aperture along with a decent reach. The iso performance is not bad too and u can bring it into the concert hall too.

A used unit goes for 500? I think its a very gd buy.

My advice is dun bother to get something new and try to master it within 5 days of crash course. Chances are without practice, you may not be getting any decent sharp shots at all (the worst thing is can't enjoy the concert while busy fumbling to take pictures, and all turn out blurry), why not make use of what you have, since your avatar appears to have a good range of gears?

dun think he can bring those gears into a concert hall?

tas probably why he's looking at a smaller camera.

If I buy a Fuji X10 while on holiday overseas, will there be any warranty coverage in Singapore ?

Hi , thanks to everyone for the advice.
Ya , bringing my main gear will be a gamble as nowadays the concert bouncers seriously will whack anyone who's camera looks a little bit bigger. I'm using an Olympus EP3 with 12-35/2.8lens and I know no need to bother trying :)

Hence looking around for a decent smaller sized camera and that's why I landed with x10 among LX5, XZ-1, RX100 etc. I sold my XZ-1 to fund my x10 purchase. XZ-2's price is simply not unreasonable to me

Will try to enjoy the concert while taking some pic s for memory , and try best to learn from u all (I'm new to Fuji with its EXR system) as I've heard that the x10'had a huge myriad of functions and not easy to master.

Hence any advice on settings for concerts is definitely good :) thanks

Sorry ,

Typo. XZ-2'd price is simply not reasonable to me. Best price I can get is $660 from RRP of $798 which is still to me , expensive :)

Joined the x10 family tonight from a bro who kind enough to let go at $420.

must say I really now understand why this baby can cost more than an entry level DSLR. Even though it may be superseded by the x20 soon , x10 still amazed me.

That's really cheap! Don't think I'd sell mine (only 4-5mth old) for that kind of money ...

hmm.. mine had no warranty, 1 yr 1 mth old :)

but made a check with Fuji , its around $85.60 (GST incl) for general servicing and the sensor replacement (white orb issue) will be free with or w/o warranty hence.. haha, good deal.

think it also helped the seller was quite generous and selling his stuff to fund a Leica.

Anyone did internal cleaning at FUJIFILM? The camera itself is very prone to dust invasion.

Will be sending for one + maintenance + change updated sensor soon. Was quoted around ~$90 for the service.

remember to do some checking after they replaced your sensor, do some noise check, zoom in zoom out to see if the lens is smooth,

Thanks for the advice :)

Played the XZ-2 and LX7 quite a while at shop today (super nice sales man at Harvey Norman), both have their plus points. But to me X10 is definitely a better camera.

Sad to see guys dumping it like a hot potato. But good for those who grab them second hand :)

your welcome =). good luck =), have fun using x10

This camera did surprise me with its ability. and this is when I'm considering buying the XZ2 or LX7 for concert going.

Just used it recently at rainie yang's concert and though I had to use manual mode w manual focus to use it effectively , the experience was great
