Fuji X10, so pretty!

Another option that will work in terms of lens protection .. Only snag is that you can't use a cheapo clip on filter cap, you need to use back the original cover, which will work perfectly. I ordered one to try.

I checked the site Edwin mention abt the B+W 40mm UV filter and email them, but was told no stocks and still waiting for their reply when new stocks arrive... So the Marumi 40mm filter is the best option for those keen on the 40mm filter now :)

just wonder, with this 40mm filter on, will the orginal x10 lens cap still able to fit in?

Seems like I had bought the last piece? I was informed by the buying service that stock was low then.

The B+W did arrived in a dated original box, maybe a dead stock from the Canon RF days...

Anyway, another option I had read about is to use plumbing tapes on a 39mm filter. It should yield a good fit if the filter is to be a permanent fixture on the lens.

Great find, Robin! Very neat solution. Only quip I have is that I'll have to hand hold my square filters if I have a need for them, because putting this on means your adapter to 52mm cannot be screwed on.

How many here are already using this particular UV filter? A show of hands? Does it "degrade" in any way your picture quality such that you can actually notice it in your photos?

I also see that sgcamerastore is 1 of the distributors. Anyone have already bought this from them?

looks interesting. but price is ...... maybe can negotiate deal with seller for discounted MO?

Bought one of the ACMAXX LENS ARMOR. It seems to be very difficult cleaning dust off the lens of the X10. Hope this thing provides a good seal and I never have to clean the lens again!

Where did you get it, SeAnCoLd?

I've been using the cam more or less exclusively through the Christmas period, fab cam but i find the startup slow, any others feel the same?

Thanks! I am still thinking about it, cos once stick, I really don't want to remove it. There are times we need the polariser or square filters... haiz.

Hmm... I didn't notice. Maybe greater tolerance here as I am still using a 5-6 year old Epson RD1s.

Turn on the QUICK START MODE to see if it is better. It is under SET-UP menu (page 3/6)

Nope. Its ready to shoot immediately after it is turned on.

Yah but take note that it will reduce battery life.

Actually i dun c a significant difference with this option on

Try formating ur card in camera, using a fast sandisk card, n transfer images via usb instead of taking the card out.

No problem with mine. But then I am very careful to make sure either I format my card if its gone unlocked into a PC/Mac or I lock the card before putting in the PC/Mac. Also I use a kia su Sanddisk 95MB/S card.

Ya i agree with your point, no aboubt its good filter with just a stick on. still waiting for Robinchee 40mm filter review when its here, thou its has been tested online tat it work :)

Using class 10 sandisk 16gb and with quick start turned in.

It doesn't come on immediately for me. The little orange light will flash maybe 5 to 10 times, about 3-5s, before the LCD actually shows the liveview, then it maybe another 1-2s before it can shoot.

What about photo review when camera is switches off? I press the (green) playback button and a green n black cube graphic will come on, then it's another 2-3s before I can see a pic.

Hope it's not a lemon...

Shooting is fine once switched on. As a matter of fact, this is not just a pretty cam- it's v v good.

Just the startup is worrying.

Just timed mine. From time from off to one position to be able to see live view .. Less than 1 second.
From off to view pictures (without turning on) just holding the play button .. Less than 1 second.

Try formatting your card. See what happens. Also I don't have RAW switched on and my settings are are M resolution, but Fine settings. With Quickstart on

In all likely hood, I will end up using the Maurimi filter. Cos the still on filter means I have to use back the original lens cap, which is not comfortable in my pocket. The Maurimi filter can use standard clip on filters which are cheap and thin and easily fit into my pocket.
