Fuji X10, so pretty!

Another thing good about EXR Auto mode is that it will self change into Macro mode and out of it .. No need to adjust yourself.

yup. so impressed by the EXR mode.

just received my step-up ring from heavystar, can check with you where and how much u bought ur b+w filter?

I bought my from B&H Photo USA online. Cost me around S$56. But I had other shipment, so could tag along, which made shipping worthwhile. Not worth just to order one direct. Shipping will cost too much. You can try from this guy, I bought one filter from him before ..

His 49mm XSPRo is $50. But seems to be not nano version. But I don't think most people can tell the difference. The MRC should be good enough.

Since u just bought it, u should go back to the shop.

just wonder, how many x10 user use the filter or just leave it as it is. In a dilemma whether to get the step up ring and the 49mm filter for the lens.....

I always make sure I have filter .. don't risk damaging the lens. In fact I so kia su, that before I bought my X100, I heard about the shortage of filter adaptors. So I actually bought the filter adaptor first, then a week or so later, then bought the X100 so that it would have filter from day one.

My X10 wears a filter. I will never risk scratching the front element of the lens.

A no brand $7 49 mm pinch cap. Most photo shops will have it

thanks!

btw those who are using B+W filter on x10, which is the better choice - B+W UV 010 BRASS Filter F-PRO or B+W 007 CLEAR MRC (both 49mm)?

B+W 49mm XS-PRO Digital MRC Nano SLIM UV Haze 010M Filter. Better than the normal ones (MRC only) cos the extra Nano layer does this.

Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) with Nano Technology. it refers to the unique Multi Resistant Coating developed by Schneider-Kreuznach, which comes as standard on B+W XS-Pro Digital Filters.
The nano coating is an outer layer of protection that comes standard with all XS-Pro Digital MRC filters. The nanotechnology based characteristic (lotus effect) produces a better beading effect with water making the cleaning of this filter even simpler and faster than ever before. MRC nano has an improved outer (8th) layer over regular MRC.
B+W's MRC Nano coating takes filter production to a new level. It features improved cleaning capabilities. Water droplets will bead up better and be easier to remove from the filter.

Also its slimmer than the normal F-Pro (3mm vs 5mm)
Extra-Slim Brass Mount with Front Thread. Extra-Slim Mount Ring that eliminate problems associated with SLR Wide-angle and Telephoto Imaging. The extremely thin design prevents the mounting ring from vignetting in even the widest shots. At 3mm thick it has a front thread for mounting additional accessories such as filters, screw on shades and lens covers. Ring are made of brass to prevent binding with your lens and are matt black to preven reflections.

Noted, but from what i saw frm the seller list, its just state B+W UV 010 BRASS Filter F-PRO, guess not the nano one. So i assume this 010 is better than the 007 filter?

Got my x10 for $802 with 16gig/Case/screen protector. got a 7$ el cheapo third party battery as well. Decided against the hood as VF obstruction is too much, but now feeling wary about the massive element being exposed like that

PS - x10 is a SEXY beast

price drop... where u get it? get the filter then

Ah! sorry, forgot to mention. got it from SLRR funan. They have crap loads in stock. Didnt get the filter yet cos proper filter needs the adapter/hood thingy. Sales guy suggested alternative as a 40mm filter which he did mention is not the exact size but suffices. Wasnt really sure about that so didnt get it. But seeing the element size again now, I am really going to get one.
The question is, which :-/

u can consider getting the 40-49mm step up ring from ebay, which some of us did...and get a B+W nano filter. :)

yes, considering that. That would be obstructive to some extent as well, I imagine?
