Fuji X10, so pretty!

jan 6 2011? got this camera already? or fujifilm test that time?
and from above picture.. i don't see that white fragment which they talk about!

:) didn't set the time/date - was taken yesterday 7 Dec.

white disc (sensor blooming) issue ? not evident yet. anyways fujifilm seems to be able to resolve it with a firmware update.

its the size of a small dslr. definitely one of the largest non-superzoom pns cameras out there. just highlighting a fact that may not be evident to some interested in the styling but not aware of the physical dimensions.

Hey! Metalgear, the size of the X10 is just right. Please do remember, You paid more $$$ for this camera than others, so don't get less for their built material. :D

NDividualistic,

You are right. It is JPEG, standard mode. Me brightened some of the photos slightly.

Hi for those who already took pic at night! i want to ask you. do you use the x10 flash or the hot shoe?
i just own 1 of x10.. yest i tried to take some pic at night (which low light) it will get blur/shaky! unless i use the flash that x10 provide!
but if i use the flash, true that the result will no more blur/shaky. but i cannot get the background very well..
anyway. iam shooting a person..

or is there any specially setting to do for a night shot? thx!! iam new to photography anyway. so buying x10 to start my photograph life! hahaha

Try EXR auto.

ideally to use tripod when nite shoot. if not pump up ur iso in low light or nite to prevent blur/shaky images; if u notice there is a yellow small cam (shaky) icon at the rite of the LCD, indicate highly cam shake. u can increase ur iso to achieve higher shutter speed to avoid those shaky/blur images.

btw, EXR mode is a good alternative to take low light/night shoot. try it out

you got tat the first time, meaning brand new set? u better call the Fuji service centre and get it change for a new one. I checked and verify, the optical VF suppose to be clear and nth on it. That dot you see is dirt.

I managed to get it change for a new set since its a brand new one (with some help frm the lady boss of the shop i bought from), the new set is totally clear. my advice, call Fuji SC tmr

wow.. okok! thx i will go fuji center directly better! since i just bought it!

hey guys! for those that are curious and wanna try hands on with this camera can do so at takashimaya best denki! tried both the X10 & X100.. initially i thought i could settle for the x10.. but the images from the X100 simply blows the x10 away.. now i'll have to save up a few more hundreds.. :(

but the x10 takes really beautiful marco shots too!

i got a x100 first...yes got challenges using this camera..slow af, metering....
then i got a x10...yes af fast, much faster...

BUT apsc sensor of x100 is superb compared to x10. honest opinion...
but that doesn't mean x100 is better than x10...they have their own segment! depending on way u need...
at first i thought of selling my x100 away after x10..but i decided to keep both.

What are the key differences of the two in use?
Like when will you use the x10 and when will you use the x100?

whenever i feel like using whichever....
summary : less fiddling with controls x10. in the mood for manipulation, x100

I rented a x100 before I got the x10. In terms of IQ OOC, the x100 is a clear winner, because of the sensor size, the IQ comes very close to the midrange Canon 60D that I own.

But I didn't buy x100 in the end primarily because there's no zoom. I know the 23mm or sth focal length is ideal for street photography, but I just felt somewhat handicap by the fixed length. And also, it's too expensive in my opinion.

When the x10 was announced I knew at once it was a camera I wld get as my secondary "compact" camera. In terms of size it definitely is more portable than lugging my 60D ard.

During the first week of mainly using the "dummy-proof" EXR mode, I was blown away by the intelligence of it. Pictures taken under several conditions just appear sharp and with great color tones. I was fast convinced that I can use the x10 to just dont think so much and shoot. Take all the manipulative aspects away, and I find myself focusing more on compositing a great frame. It is just a joy to shoot with this small cam.

In all, I wld say that the x10 is a very good complement to any dslr you may own, for serious enthusiasts. For ppl who are starting out in photography, it is a great cam to start with, but what photography techniques you can master out of it, might be lesser than what a dslr can offer you.

the exr mode on x10 is very useful! if tat doesn't give nice pictures...good sharpness n correct exposure (majority keepers)..then composition must be wrong (user fault)

Wait till you try out the Advanced - portrait mode, really nice portraits with good bokeh.

Another thing good about EXR Auto mode is that it will self change into Macro mode and out of it .. No need to adjust yourself.
