Great Thread! Just ordered mine with 18-55 kit; only getting it end of the year though!
Any know if the 58mm lens filter is the correct one for the 18-55?

Getting rid of my Canon setup and look forward to play with the XE1! (24-70L 10/10 condition for sale any takers???)

I just called Fuji Singapore and they said the kit with the zoom lens will be out 'next week or the week after'!! Price is about $100 more than the 35mm kit.

if it is as sharp as the 35mm across all focal length wif equal IQ... definitely a hot item for X system users...

Frankly speaking, my X-E1 was an impulse buy. I just knew that it shared the same sensor as its bigger brother the X-Pro, and I wanted a lighter system to complement my DSLR. If the 18-55 is as good as the 35mm in terms of build quality and IQ. I might just ditch my DSLR entirely!

Patiently waiting for reviews on d 18-55. Cheers.

1.xe1
2.m9
3.nikon

correct?

should i get the Xe1 or nex 6?

as i've gathered from the internet :

NEX6
new kit "powered" zoom is better than old ones.
evf better & more responsive than fuji
new "hybrid" AF faster than nex7, i guess will confirm be faster than xe1, but still let's forget about moving things & sports...
a lack of sharp, fast glass for e-mount at present.
more compact than xe1
probably much cheaper (expect SG$1400 with kit zoom)

XE1
better ooc jpegs, overall IQ
slower AF (might be irritating though not really a concern in most cases)
quite a bit more expensive, lens also expensive. (expect sg$2100 with kit zoom when launched)
good lens lineup in the works

Did some shots a week back between the X-E1 and the Leica M9, guest starring the D600.

Shot using the D600.

Set1 : m9
Set2 :D600
Set3 :X-E1

:)

Dear fellow X E1 user,

What is the filmware for your body?

My X E1 version is 1.0.

And I can't use the filmware I downloaded for my ex-X Pro1.

Anyone of you can guide me along to upgrade it?

I am unable to find the filmware 2.0 on the Fuji website.

Thanks in advance

both are good cameras..but since u are asking in fuji forum, the ans is obvious.
imo, i think fuji lens line up is more interesting..and given the quality of the lens that they have made...i will presume that the future lens will be just as astounding..
since u are getting into the system, then better think abt the overall lens line up....body will be used and replaced overtime..but good lens will stay with u for a longer time..

If I am not wrong the firmware is for x-pro1 not for x-e1..

Have similar thoughts before. Got the XE1 eventually.
The lens line up looks good. IQ and ISO very good.

So every XE1 owners have V1.0 filmware?

I thought I read from some where it's suppose to be the newest V2.0?

It's like having my old X Pro 1, and X100 all over again.

However after using V1.0 then used V2.0 then back to V1.0, I can see significant difference.

Urgh! I have to adapt to V1.0 again.

No way we can have it updated to the newset V2.0 right?

Can't find the update at any Fuji websites (Different countries website).
