Yup. My Exposure dial rotates more freely than the shutter control dial

I bought mine from sgcamera at Peninsula for $60. Seems decent although focuses beyond infinity for my M90f2.8.

hi i am googling this cam and omd, it seem omd is kind of "better' than xe1 in over all rating . (google search say one}.

However why this price of this cam is higher than omd?

Thanks in a advance for the advise.

Just got mine from MS color two days ago. (thanks to everyone for their advice!)

Yes. The EVF does lag when I pan but I'll get used to it. Overall, it feels really good in hand and looks like its going to be a great travel camera for me.

Only question is how do I check the firmware of the camera and the lens?

I can't seem to find anything on google. The AF hunts in low light (fluorescent light in my room at 10pm) and can't focus on a black bottle cap against a white background.

After gorging myself on reviews after reviews, the main reason I chose the XE1 was because of the image quality and the build quality of the kit lens. Furthermore, the OMD felt plasticky and the IQ I saw was only so-so.

Plus, I'm a sucker for the design of the XE1.

Checking firmware- switch camera on while holding down the back button.

Focusing issue- found great advice on dedicated Fuji x forums regarding the cdaf system- need to focus on something that has contrast, because of the system, the cam has trouble focusing on flat bright surface ( try to focus on the edge of the surface). I normally switch to continuos af in low light and find that it works for me.

Why i chose the XE1 over OMD

Larger sensor
Better ISO control
Larger control buttons

U really got to try it to see if u like it..

Sony Nex6 was on my mind almost everyday...i tried n test it...over and over again..thanks to the friendly uncle that allows me to keep trying almost every few days...
I think he knows that im a little undecided and upon knowing that im looking at a 1.5x crop body, and when i ask him, handled me a fuji xe1....
I tried, i complained...but end up i bought it....
i oso don know why...even now when i see the images off the lousy lcd screen, i still "tsk" each and everytime...

but when i see it on the screen....i go "waaa....."

Might not be a good representation, but i really got impressed....i didnt touch up the colors...i only added vignette...and this is ISO1600....

OMD is the best all rounder, solid af performances...video recording also good....own it...sold it. I dont know about others...but i just find OMD jpeg output feels a bit digital as compare to Fuji.

If u spend some time looking at the photos from fuji and omd...u should be able to tell the diff.

Woohoo...

Saw at least 5 posts in BnS selling X-E1... Guess the after effect of ppl wanting the 18-55 Kit Lens and dumping the additional X-E1 body... D Kit Lens alone is overpriced...

No worries... after the initial heat for the kit zoom, you will see a lot of them in the BNS too... all will be sold below $800.

As I mentioned, it is well built, but if you have used the 35mm prime, you will miss the superb IQ of the 35mm when you use the kit zoom. For Sharpness, IQ, 35mm prime is a level above. Get a kit zoom for versatility mainly.

Bought a kit zoom and sold the next day. Good lens to use for travelling, but nothing beats the 35mm for sharpness and IQ. It is also a little too bulky for me on my X-E1. Hopefully the 23mm F1.4 will be smaller than the 35mm?

Does the OMD autofocus accuracy differs a lot? still adapting to the X-e1 but quite frustrating when most of the shot the AF is not accurate (that beside the AF slowness)

Same, I have to program the “Fn" to change to "select AF points" so that I can accurately do so the point I want.

Hi Fable, try as I might - I just cannot seem to find the "select AF points" option in my "Fn" button menu.
Is it because I am running an older firmware? Can anyone enlighten me on how to check for firmware?

Thank you in advance and apologies for my ignorance!
