Stocks for the hand grip is available every where since the launch of the camera in Oct.

This one has no stocks problem as not many people are buying since some will prefer to use leather case, which will not accommodate the handgrip.

Bought mine at SLR Revo and they have quite a few sets. Saw them at Bally Photo and Harvey Norman as well at Funan.

Yes yes. D grip wif d leather case is good. It will b perfect wif d thumbs up when its out. Maybe my focusing will b better. Btw, think my problem is d way I focus. I alwayz use f/1.4 n focus on subject then recompose the frame. Might b d cause of d out of focus issue. Hmm

At 1.4, I try to move the AF point a bit instead of focus lock then re-compose if subject not moving. A bit troublesome but can nail focus 99.9%.

Thanks... I will do this next time. So most probably is user problem than lens errors. LOL

LOL not user problem lah. I would think of this AF points feature as a blessing rather than a hindrance. If shoot rangefinders with OVF, your method is correct and that's what I'd do.

I know that many members on this forum (including myself) frequently complain about Fuji X series cameras AF speed or accuracy. But I try to think of the AF of XE1 and Xpro as a step up from RF manual focus instead of a downgrade from huge DSLR- feel much better (denial, anger now acceptance).

Ok, spent more time with the X-E1 and here's my initial impression.

1) Feel is good, expecially with the grip. Fits my hands better that the M4/3 bodies which I have. Thought that the set up was a little front heavy with the 18-55mm lens but its all good with the grip. Somebody commented that it feels like a tin can but I didn't think so. The only complaint I have is that the small dial on the back is a little sharp on the edges but its not a biggie.

2) Controls are quite intuitive. Wish there could be at least 2 Fn buttons though. Quick manual is handy.

3) EVF is good but noticed some lag when zooming.

4) AF is surprisingly fast with the 18-55mm (I've used the X100 before).

5) Quite honestly, I don't quite like it when I'm forced to use the aperture ring in Av mode. That was a bit of a shocker but should get used to it.

6) ISO expansion is off in RAW mode and since I only shoot in RAW, I cannot use ISO 100.

7) Only have single axis leveller. Cameras of the same generation provide dual axis. This can be a pain.

8) Waking the camera up from auto-off is a function by itself, which had to be turned on. Hello!!!

9) RAW means RAW, cannot change ratio aspect. No biggie either.

10) I don't really need a big dial which does nothing but let me control exposure compensation but that's keeping in line with the retro design I supposed.

Have to admit, it was the design which enticed me to get the camera. I thinkit looks way better that the bigger brother. I knew very little about useability of Fujifilm cameras and I bought the X-E1 with no intention of using it for my work but its could well be turning out just fine. I didn't felt this excited when I got my D800E or H4D. Looking forward to the 14mm and the UWA zoom.

X-E1 bug found | Fuji Rumors

In short: A Fujirumors follower wrote me an email. He says that: “When shooting in JPG you have the option of choosing the picture format just as with the XPRO1, 3-2 equals 4896×3264. This is the same if you choose Raw+Fine also, and it works properly with the generated RAW file being 4896×3264. BUT If you choose RAW only, the format changes to RAW and the file size locks at 4896×2760! The XPRO1 if set the same way is 4896×3264! There seems to be NO way to change this. This has been very frustrating.”

They ask me go on Friday last week, before stocks run out .. But actually stocks were not even in yet ..

Just collected my freebies .. Quite long to process each claim. The premium travel kit is a passport holder and luggage name tag holder. The rest is original spare battery, cleaning kit, $20 NTUC voucher.

What do you mean by "long to process"?

That's what I mentioned earlier.

Just got my set from mscolor yesterday...sold the kit away and it became more affordable..
going to collect the freebies later.

I need some advice on the M mount adapter. If im looking for an affordable 3rd party adapter at a reasonable price and works fine, anyone has any recommendations?

Apologies, I know what you meant now. If you shoot in RAW only, the image size if fixed at 16:9 ratio instead of full size. It is a bug.

i'm quite surprised that no one said anything all these while.

Ok, I fiddled around a bit. To solve the problem, do the following.

Open RAW file in CS.
Select Crop.
Right click and select Clear Crop.

I'm still finding out how to fix it in LR.

Hi All,

Can I know where can I get the best price for getting a set with the kit lens.
Thank you in advance

To all X-E1 gurus,

Would like to know if you find the X-E1 EVF to be "jerky" as you pan the camera in normal shooting mode, before AF-lock?

I tried the demo sets at Sitex and find that as I pan the camera, the image from the EVF isn't smooth. The LCD screen displays smoothly as I pan, but not the EVF. Fuji staff told me that the demo sets are "prototypes" and assures me that the production units do not have this issue.

I have previously used the Olympus OM-D and was quite impressed with its EVF. Was disappointed with the X-E1's EVF. Any X-E1 owners like to share your experience? TIA.

I have no issues in good lights... low light will lag abit. cant help it. but LCD still good to use in such condition though.
