S3 basic brochure is here

RAW files are expected to be larger now
currently - the S2 RAW files are abt 12MB plus, judging from the specs, it looks like it has close to double the raw file size.
But Fuji promises 4x the image quality.

Not sure that does this means
Lens servo - Single Servo AF (S), Continuous Servo AF (C), Manual focus (M)
Focus Tracking automatically activated in subject’s status in Single
Servo AF (S) or Continuous Servo AF (C)

Anyway, I want to see samples!

Is it me, or does it look like a film rewind icon at the illumination button in the picture shown on the dpreview site?

Maybe u can plug in a film back :P. Anyway from the pdf,it seem like none of the stuff (non-cpu metering, 1/250 xsync) i wanted are in. Looks like a D100 body reworked with a newer sensor. Since I dun make a living from my hobby, I guess I will pass on this version, and look forward to picking up a D70 after waiting some time for prices to drop for a light travelling body. From some info in dpreview, the S20pro is US $999 MSRP, so it would make this baby at least US$1499 MSRP.

Fuji added D-TTL, so it means it won't support the older Nikon flashes?

From dpreview forums. Someone asked fuji abt the price and they said its below $3000, US dollars...........

i'm not moved to get one yet .. still happy wif my s2pro..
anybody putting their name in the waiting list yet ???

My S2 is serving me well too.

But I am curious and reviewing and waiting to see more details on the S3.
The new CCD looks interesting and very promising - assuming that its able to live up to its promise - I think greater dynamic range is great! closer to the behaviour of film is a big plus.

Anyway, time will tell :)

Really want to get a DSLR by the end of this year. My target is around the 10D, 100D, S2Pro level. But I know replacement or newer models are coming out by the end of this year...So to all those "playing" Dslr camera's out there, can you tell me the significant difference and pro's and con's of these three brands? Also, the minolta dynax 7 dslr is also kinda attractive. My budget is also around $4.5K not including lenses....

For the 12.2 effective Megapixel Super CCD sensor, worth to condsider if price lower than $3k. It will be great for studio works compare to 14N and 1DS which cost more than $6K and $10K.
