i thought autofocus video mode, the aperture is fixed to f3.5, or the max aperture of the lens (if its smaller than f3.5). Thats what reviews says...

Wah envy man.. Bro sorry to OT abit, how much is the SAL16-80Z? Heard its a good lens, I am considering to get it if I get the A55..
Unfortunately, there is no A55 with SAL16-80Z lens bundle, so he just bought the A55 body only and the 16-80Z at the PwP price.

Ya bro, I know there's no A55 + SAL16-80Z bundle. I want to know how much is the SAL16-80Z coz I heard many good things about it but till now still dunno what is it's price..

yep there's no bundle for CZ 16-80 nor the common one 18-250 but if you're getting this from MScolor they will give you a very good price and you're still entitled with a PwP on your 2nd lens... not sure about on the CZ but when I've gotten my 18-250 I manages to get the 50mm f1.8 at PwP price.

i have that article(actually sort of additional separate 1 page manual). supposed to post it but the pdf file is corrupted. anyways, it just basically states to set the dial mode to aperture priority,choose your preferred f-stop and the video will use it from then on. i tried it actually and also did some exp. compensation on-the-fly.

for me, if fw update could improve somehow the batt life
. see the below pic, it's already 88% but batt still @ full bar? whew, maybe can be tweaked so it would add a bit of juice to the battery before alarming "lowbatt"

actually the bar is correct wat
it has 4 bars, so each represents 25%.
So when ur battery drops to 75%, one bar will be minus off.
Since its still 83%, it shows 4 bars.

maybe,maybe not. i monitored it and 1 bar gone just upon reaching 80%. if we'll consider margin of error(accuracy), basing from your analogy,5% is BIG!
The 18-250 is an unofficial bundle with a33 or a55. unofficial in the sense that there is nothing advertised. but if you want it, authorised alpha dealers should be able to give it to you. if i were to get the a33 with 18-250 and 50f18, it will cost 1550. if i were to get the a33 with cz16-80, it will cost slightly below 2k.
As for the update, i hope
-its possible to do iso setting at 1/3 or 1/2 stops.
-fn button to include change of image quality. this will allow us to change the settings from raw+jpeg to jpeg only.
then can use the Auto HDR and multishot NR function quickly.

or it could be 5 bars, with the last 20% represented by 0 bar. Or maybe its 4 bars with 22% each, with the last 12% as 0 bars?
If u want u can go and test it out to find out exactly how many bars represents wat percentage.
its meant to be a rough gauge anyway.

I hope the firmware update will introduce the function to increase ISO more finely instead of the current 1/2 stop. Eg. now we can only increase from ISO 400 to 800, ISO 800 to 1600 etc. When I am using my previous Pentax KX, I can increase ISO more finely eg. ISO 200, 320, 400, 500, 640, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000 etc.. Since KX is an entry-level DSLR and has this function, I think the A55/A33 should have this function too. It is good as it offers us much more control over noise when we increase our ISO.

1) Ability to take a picture while in movie recording mode. - This is really quite glaring when you do a side by side comparision.
2) Users adjustable EVF brightness - In a really dark place, the eyes can have a hard time looking at a bright EVF and then having to adjust back to the darkness.
3) Improvement over the hi-speed mode of shooting - current mode is abit difficult to track fast moving subject as you only see a kinda gif animation while shooting 7/10fps.
4) Enable the viewing of photos and videos all in the same review mode, rather than having to toggle between stills and movies....
5) I wish the af assist is not the trash can button, very awkward to go that low. Prefer the magnify button to do the job.
