You mean like the Minolta xi series ? ...it's a good feature but you'll need lense which supports this.

Bro, this feature already got wat ? ...turn your selection dial to pana mode, press menu and look for "Pana direction" ...can choose left to right, right to left, up to down and down to up !!! :bsmilie: (scratch #13)
Yup, some of the SAM lenses might be damaged by DMF if the user forgets to switch to MF. But perhaps they could disable DMF just for SAM lenses.
Oh, ya my bad, did not realize the pana mode can be chosen.
Wish list of features to be addressed by new A33/A55 firmware
1) Ability to take a picture while in movie recording mode. - This is really quite glaring when you do a side by side comparision.
2) Users adjustable EVF brightness - In a really dark place, the eyes can have a hard time looking at a bright EVF and then having to adjust back to the darkness.
3) Improvement over the hi-speed mode of shooting - current mode is abit difficult to track fast moving subject as you only see a kinda gif animation while shooting 7/10fps.
4) Enable the viewing of photos and videos all in the same review mode, rather than having to toggle between stills and movies....
5) I wish the af assist is not the trash can button, very awkward to go that low. Prefer the magnify button to do the job.
6) I hope a) its possible to do iso setting at 1/3 or 1/2 stops b) fn button to include change of image quality. this will allow us to change the settings from raw+jpeg to jpeg only.
then can use the Auto HDR and multishot NR function quickly.
7) The firmware should also add in new features like customise settings like profile 1, 2 ,3.
Each profile would have customizable WB, creative style (different contrast, sharpness and saturation as well) etc.
8) I hope the firmware update will introduce the function to increase ISO more finely instead of the current 1/2 stop. It is good as it offers us much more control over noise when we increase our ISO.
9) I hope Sony will provide firmware.
10) Ability to use "Slow Sync" Flash with the AEL button rather than going into the menus.
11) Ability to use Dynamic Manual Focus (DMF), who is the wise guy that removed it anyway?
12) Ability to use "Auto HDR" even when Raw is chosen (Ya, i know its going to be Jpg, but the camera should just allow us to go ahead and take the pic even in Raw mode)
13)
