FPV for Phantom 2

Which country?
Is there a cold start for the phantom gps?
The gps may have remember it's last location as in Singapore for a warm start.

You can try doing the whole compass calibration dance again when in a new country. Also, how built up is the place? General practise is try not to fly in a built up area. It's not worth the grief to yourself and others when bad things happen.

The mount look good. Where and how much did you get it from? Is it fast and easy to assemble in the field?

$38, very neat product. PM if you want to know the place, cos I think its not appropriate to advertise for them... I don't want to also...lol

Thanks, but I think it may not work with Zenmuse gimbal

Well if that's the case then its fine. But I dont see the point of using HD video when SD can do the job and give you higher range. Also for FPV in this range a Phantom wont cut it as normal 2.4 ghz radio range is limited. For the video below you need UHF frequency range which can give you ranges like 30km+ and may not be legal as its power output is high.

Watch these. 5.7 Km FPV range

Long range FPV must operate in the 1.2-1.4GHz range. These frequencies are ban in Singapore for consumer use. So with 2.4 and 5.8 Ghz (Wifi freq.) We cannot have long range FPV in Singapore.

Anyway, why we need FullHD recordings? From what you are saying I guess you are not a commercial Aerial photographer. One main advantage of FullHD FPV is, it allows remote recording of the footages. In case your drone crashed for whatever reasons, at least you have captured the footage while it is in flight. So the lost in not total. At least there is a chance where by the required footage has already been captured. FullHD FPV also allow live broadcast of the footages during events which has huge commercial advantage. Such live broadcast was super expensive in the past, but now it is within reach for the consumer. US$1.5K is a small amount. One may recover back the cost with just one commercial project.

Phantom GPS do not work well esp. NAZA M V2 in build up area. DJI A2 navigator is much better in this aspect.

pls pm me when to get this mount. thanks

No need power for DJI AVL58?

AVL58 power is integrated into the data cable....is a very neat setup with the DJI Phantom 2
